ok thanks for being more clear although I am sorry I cannot help just wanted to clarify for people who can and if you don't mind me asking why downgrade? My theory is there is probably a Windows 10 version you have which is obviously not compatible if a "Windows 10 version" is a thing.
EDIT: or that ^ similar to my theory lol

it worked on 8.1 duh and i bought the 2016 edition from the beginning

Microsoft Office 2016 works on Windows 7 SP1 and up, so it should work just fine on Windows 8.1.
