Free codes usually come on the digital receipt and are not automatically installed as far as I'm aware.

The reciept doesn't have an extra code, just the one for picross.

link is the 3rd my nintendo theme but requires 200 plat/miitomo coins to get it's code. it might be a us code since the link theme came out in us a while back. do not know about eu, au,jp tho.
