If I have freakyhax installed, and another update for the 3DS is released, can I update without getting rid of freakyhax/bricking my 3DS? And if so, how?

Its possible that nintendo blocks that exploit entry point in a future update though I'm not an expert on the matter so perhaps others can weigh in? Also as far as bricking goes, it shouldn't brick if you update since it isn't an install per se as it is a entry point to install home-brew. If I have that backwards some one please correct me.

You can never brick your 3ds just because you have the hbl. It would be safe to update although it usually takes a few days to get it ready

The payload is ran from the sd card, you would update that for the newest firmware and it would work fine. If they patch the exploit, then it is gone.

(I probably sound like an idiot but) What if I installed A9LH after activating freakyhax?

With A9LH, you can update safely as long as you're using an emuNAND, or an updated sysNAND CFW that protects FIRM (which Luma, ReiNand, etc. all do, except for RxTools and Gateway).

depends on your current firmware. If you're on 11.x, this isn't an option, as there's other checks in place that will prevent the downgrade (we need to break process9 first)

Pretty well documented in FAQ's section of the forum. That being said, for your own good, don't try it if you don't have prior soldering experience.
