Hacking Playing cartridge games on cfw?

Hey guys. A friend fused me in setting up.. Reinand?.. i believe so that i can play CIA games. My question is, if i wanted, could i go and but a normal game at a store, pop it in the 3ds and play it? I kind of wanted to buy the pokemon games, including the digital pokemon red and play them. I also want to use the pokemon bank online.

Is this possible even though I'm using cfw?

Well what worries me is that i am always asked to update my firmware. Worry if i try to go online it'll try to update and in turn overwrite my cfw. Can i go and buy things from the eshop even though I'm in cfw?

CFW gives you access to everything you would normally have, but with the benefits of much more... piracy.

When you're in lets say, "ReiNAND" Mode, you can update it then to the latest filmware, as long as you have updated files and things of it, although id imagine your sysNAND is 9.2FW? Correct?~
