as of now it doesn't work directly with a9lh but theyre supposed to be releasing their a9lh files soon. I still use my gateway occasionally and I'm using a9lh and luma3ds. Easiest way to use gateway at the moment is menuhax though.
I know I'm being quick and picky, I apologize. But, this is safe, right? I know nothing is 100% safe, but... I remember a time where SysUpdater was unstable as hell and bricks were common. I even bricked 2 2DS systems with that.
a9lh is pretty safe now as long as you follow the guide. Menuhax is as safe as cubic ninja

I think you mean downgrading sorry for that.
plaisysupdater is pretty safe. I've downgraded a handful of consoles with it and had no issues at all.

The downgrading process is really simple and safe. I downgradet 2 3ds and had no Brick. A lot of use seted up a9lh and in the process we downgradet our 3ds few times.i say you are to 99% safe when you use the right files
The biggest risk you take is the downgrade, however, if you make sure to do a system format prior to downgrading, that is basically avoided.

Just follow part 1 and part 2 of Plailect's guide, and then setup your Gateway3DS however you want.
I took the risk of installing arm9loader on my one and only 3DS. I've also spent hundreds on digital and DLC since launch but regardless my motivation was just dealing with one NAND. That alone was the only motivation I needed to go for it.

Ignore Parts 3,4,5, if you're not going to setup A9LH. Part 1 covers menuhax setup, then Part 2 covers the downgrade progress. After that, you can setup Gateway3DS however you want.

No one responded. I started the updater. Downgrade worked... I think... I walked away and came back and it was at error screen. It went black screen so I take out SD card. But now it says 9.2.0-20U... I'm not sure what happen...

Downgrade again, sounds like you have a partial downgrade. This issue is described and mentioned in Part 2, of Plailect's guide.
"If PlaiSysUpdater crashes at any point during the downgrade (which can happen occasionally), you can power off the system by holding the power button. You will be left with what's called a "partial downgrade" or "partial", which is recoverable.
Although a partially downgraded system may show 9.2.0 as the system version, you are not done. You must restart from the beginning and downgrade a second time to install any files that were not installed. Browserhax will work for partial downgrades as long as you are using the recommended version of PlaiSysUpdater."

Yes. I go to boot EmuNand and boot system settings but it doesn't show GW3D before version but I can open my cheat menu. So should I update my n3ds EmuNand...? I'm not even sure I'm in EmuNand
Did you setup a GW Emunand? Hit Select on the Home Menu, on the ROM selector menu, at the top right of it, does it say SYSNAD or EMUNAND?
SysNand for some reason... I manually pressed EmuNand. How do I make an EmuNand
