I bought a New3DSXL/LL from Katsukity(Capture Card) and came with Firmware 9.9.0-26J. So what path should I choose? Which entry point can I use? Cuz I got nothing(Nor Sky3ds or CN or OoT, nothing)

So any help?

Follow the guide and get A9LH with Luma3DS (CFW).
Browserhax and all other CFW's are old, unsupported at this point, and lack the advantages A9LH brings.

Honestly people should just stop suggesting anything else. Let the old hax methods be a thing of the past.
NO new user should resort to using those old methods.. Prevents 5000 issue threads later.

Eh. But what if they don't want to take the risk or have the time to setup A9LH? Menuhax is still an option that still supports the latest firmware. Both have their pros and cons.

Time, sure. It does take a couple hours. But honestly.. it takes some people that long to get menuhax set up from scratch using scattered tutorials anyway.
But risk? Im sorry but im tired of hearing this lazy argument. The guide is brick and noob proof if you can read. Little to no risk. Id say having an emuNAND and sysNAND that ISNT the latest is more risky. As you can accidently lock yourself out of everything if you arent careful/smart.

Couple that with brick protection once its done...and A9LH is almost a must for hacking at this point. No one should have the ability to brick their system with no way to repair, outside of hardmod.

Why not give them both sides so they can pick? Menuhax is nice, and so is A9LH. But saying which one is better is the OP's decision to take tbh. If you show them both routes, they an choose.

@EvilMakiPR Id use browserhax to get to the homebrew launcher and downgrade using the guide @samiam144 suggested. Menuhax is fine for if you have no experience with using this sort of stuff, but if you feel confident and make sure you backup your nand a few times then you could be ok installing A9LH. Just make sure you follow it word for word or your N3DS will be dead weight. Installing A9LH is safer now a days and the guide is (as ive heard) way better and more straight forward than when A9LH first published. I did it with my N3DS XL and it went well first try. Just make sure you follow it completly! I can't say that enough xD

Yeah, I mean once the procedure is complete, the 3DS becomes brick-proof, but there are several instances during the process where there is a chance for a hard brick. If you carefully follow the directions, you shouldn't brick, but it is very possible to misread or skip over something important. And it took me about 6-7 hours the first time I installed A9LH, and by no means would I consider myself a newbie at 3DS hacking. So yeah, if you can set aside a day to carefully read and follow the procedure, go with menuhax. If someone doesn't have that kind of time and doesn't care for A9LH perks, then menuhax is perfectly suitable.

Thats why we are hear to yell at them to follow it word for word xD Yes there is always a chance of bricking but if they are confident enough to go through the few hours of doing it then more power to them. Thats why we must give both routes so they can choose instead of people at each others throats on which on is better. Which we all know temp has flame wars like this.

Since the creation of the guide many new safety precautions have been put in place. Its almost impossible to brick at this point unless youre trying to, or deliberately skip steps. But if you read the guide it says 100 times to read carefully and follow every step. If you can read and follow instructions...You wont brick. Period.

And it shouldnt take THAT long. Id say it took me half that my first time doing it, though I sat with the 3DS every step and didnt walk away while NANDS backed up, as a lot of people like to do.

But is your comment actually solving the problem here? Just answer the question or ignore it and move on with your life.
