So yeah, I've seen "What are the benefits of the N3DS clock speed?" show up a few times.. Someone should make a wiki or some documentation or something on what games benefit, and what happens with the N3DS clock speed settings with Luma3DS and HANS (If there isn't one already.).
For example of the format:

Game:__________________|__804mhz_________| 804mhz + l2
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonic & Sega All-Stars___| Game now runs _| 60fps +
Racing Transformed____|at solid 60fps _____| Faster load times.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
etc. etc.

Sorry for the underscores.. The forum would remove all the spacing I had put and would completely break the format.

If there is a wiki page or something like this please kindly link it, and I'll be off with this idea. and it has to be regularly updated, (obviously, what would be the point of keeping track of this if it's only updated once in a blue moon?)

So why not make that somone YOU?
because i have no idea how to make wikis? i would if i had the slightest knowledge of this kind of formatting....

this is miles easier than everyone telling me to make my own 3ds homebrew

EDIT: besides, making an entire wiki dedicated to this one thing would be a bit overkill

EDIT2: and i don't have the time, not the SD space to test every single game on the 3ds library, so i would need help in the first place

Instead of a list of games which feature improvements, what about a list of games with known issues/problems when used with the increased clock speed+L2 cache?

Then perhaps we could have a .cfg file stored on the SD card which could be read by CFW before a game launches, and if the gameID matches one in the 'problem games' list the CFW could lower the clock speed/cache to match O3DS settings?

That's a good idea, but that's also kind of what i also meant when i said
and what happens with the N3DS clock speed settings with Luma3DS and HANS
Which could be counted as benefits/bugs that could be seen and encountered

So far, out of all the games I've played with the clock + l2 that seems a bit bugged is Harvest Moon: A New Beginning run at a constant sub 15fps.. not sure if that's normal or the clock messing things up. I would have to see if any difference occurs when I turn it off

Funny you should mention Sonic All-Stars Racing, as that's one of the few games I've noticed that crashes with clock + l2 settings on.
I'm not sure about in single player, but in online multiplayer both a friend and myself experienced complete system crashes every few minutes that weren't happening with the setting not enabled.

That and the black lower screen with the system has stopped responding and requires a restart or whatever.
when I got that the system just hung for like, 10 minutes until I force shut it down

I should figure out where i should put this wiki page, because it's starting to seem quite useful

I find that all games run better in 3D from the CPU and Cache bump.

You don't need a wiki, all games benefit, just leave it on all times. Turn it off for the few games that give you issues.

but we could use a list that shows what games it causes issues, so people know ahead of time without spamming the forums with "game iz nut wrkung" and the simple answer would be that they have clock + l2 enabled

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.

    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
