I recently added a9lh to a 3dsXL w/ video capture card and a N3dsXL. That was on 10.7. Now that 11.0 is out, or any future system software, will updating be able to patch the a9lh effectively removing it from the system or am I safe in that respect. Is 11.0 sysNand safe to be updated or is it RedNand only?

If you use luma3DS (or reinand cfw): nope, because it blocks writes to firm0/firm1.
(i have updated my 10.7 a9lh sysnand to 11.0 without issues ^^)

Maybe. Cfw coders have patched out firm installing from the NIM module, but that doesn't mean Nintendo couldn't use another method to install over it. However, there should always be a way around any of N's countermeasures if we have arm9 access that early in the boot sequence (a9lh).

The important thing to remember as a user is to WAIT for the all-clear after any firmware update newly becomes available so devs can research and patch out any new wrinkles in N's security.

Thanks, I also thought that was the way to go.
