Quick Virtual Machine Question

Ok lets say (im on windows 10) i got a windows xp virtual machine and with the dynacmic ram I set the ram and lets say I get out of the virtual machine Is that amount of ram still being allocated I want to know this because lets say for example i play fallout ill lag like hell

while the virtual machine is running, whatever ram IS allocated to it, is not accessible by the actual computer. Once you completely close/shut down the virtual machine, that ram should be released back into he actual machine.

hey I had one more question I got it up and running through hyper v thanks to your reply although how do I setup an internet connection haven't used xp in forever and I'm not sure if the way you set it up is even when your running it or through the vm settings any help?

Set up the NIC as NAT in the VM and it should work outside the box. Otherwise Bridged should also work.

VM as in when I'm in my xp desktop or through hyper v manager and also if it is through xp could I have a little directory to where this is need a refresher
