I just got a Wii U and going to get into the modding scene. Planning to use Loadiine as well as Vwii. So my question are what are the SD limitations and what is the best choice if not even a top 3 would be preferred.
i just picked up a 64gb card today, how would one format it to fat32? is there a preferred tool?a 64Gb SD is good enough. I use a 128Gb SD and only a handful of games on it.

this formatted it to exfat, and did not give me an option to switch to fat32.I have had success with the tools here:
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
The built in OS tools do not seem to get it done properly (for me at least)
about to try this.use this tool http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm to format in fat32.

When IOSU comes out (if it comes out ever) then we will be able to use HDDs for games and the SD will only be for RedNand and small homebrewsYou can buy one of those Samsungs, but be weary of fakes. I got a Sandisk, less people complained about fakes on those. I got a 128GB, because a 64GB will fill up. I mean Just Dance 2016 alone is already over 16GB. Yoshi Wolly World is 10GB. You can see how 64 can fill up fast. Don't get a super fast UHS3 card, the Wii U can't go that fast anyways. You will need to format in FAT 32, 64k clusters. You can use guiformat, or whatever other formatter you want. I used Easeus Partition Master. Some people say to do a low level format on the card first to make it faster. Not sure if that's true, but if you don't mind waiting, you can try it.
Oh another reeason people should get 128GB cards. When IOSU comes out and we have EMUNAND, that's going to use up what, like 32GB for the EMUNAND right there? At least for the black Wii owners. Maybe that's not how it will work, but I think it's worth the extra $20 just to be safe.
