how hard would it be to take the trophy model for fiora and use that as a skin for ZSS?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

how could I take the trophy model for Fiora from smash and use it over ZSS' skeleton.

Well, considering trophies don't have bones the model would not move...

So I made a very basic stage mod for pacland that turned out really really bad so bad I don't wanna show the final version. but here is one screenshot of it half done.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to change some files to help with editing stages.
First is the model.nud, I assume for this i just need 3DS max with the plugin but I can't get 3DS max so is their any way for blender to open them?
I also want to be able to view the .lvd file inside the params folder of a stage, I'm not sure exactly what it does but the drmario stage edit has that file and I assume it may help with modding the stage.
Lastly I want to be able to open the "Light_set_param.bin" in the render folder I assume this will let me change the lighting in some way.

If anyone knows how I can view these files could you please reply.
I know for editing params you need to use Sammi Husky's param editor. As for editing the model.nud, I'm looking to convert that tool for blender. It shouldn't be to difficult since it is in python already. We will just have to wait and see. I'll post if I manage to do it.

putting it over ZSS' bone structure.
That would require taking the model and adding bones to it yourself in a program like blender then putting it back in the game, and that is not an easy process.

I should be more clear, Params editor only works for proper parameter files the light param file is a .bin is their any known way to open .bin files?

It's not possible at all right now. Model imports are still a ways off, and the only way to get any trophy models attached to character's skeletons is through model importing. And even then it's a major pain because the trophy models aren't t-posed.

Guess this is just a vertex edit then ?

What is the exact difference between a custom model and a vertex edit?
Still new to the modding scene but I'm learning fast.

That's a vertex edit.

The difference is a vertex edit takes an existing model, and changes the shape of it. It adds no new polygons, objects or textures. It's built entirely based on what's already there. These work in game because each vertex point has a specific xyz coordinate, and by changing the coordinate it alters the shape. We're not importing new models, we're just telling the game to draw the vertex point at a different coordinate.

Model importing is taking an entirely new model that wasn't in the game and bringing it into it. In order to add bones to a model that IS in the game, we'd have to take it out of the game first and then bring it back in, so it's still technically an import.

Can't you swap existing smash 4 models like ones on stages ie Ridley, Animal Crossing villagers, ect with fighters?

Yes, but.

These characters have different numbers of bones than the fighters, and all are missing key bones (such as grab bones), which result in less than perfect character swaps. You can do it, it just doesn't work all that well.

Ah I see, so how would I go about editing them, since its editing the xyz coodinates is there a program specificly for it it or do I need 3DS max to open the .nud?

You'll need 3ds Max. Because nud files are propriety Namco model files, no 3D modeling programs open them natively, and Max is the one that has a script written for it.

I really need to know the danger of hacking like can I go online on glory or not??? Also can someone get the model from PacMan party?
