This is some real ghetto ass rigging
well at least your rig has led's now...

this hardware is so old now I really don't think its worth it to spend any more money on it

If the black part outlined in this image is what is preventing the cpu cooler from going on correctly, try cutting it off.

Is this your GPU? It looks like it should be fanless. Unless you are having problems with it overheating then it should be fine. if you are you can try what I did to my old 4650.

My old 4650, the old fan died so i ripped it out and twist tied a case fan on to it.

Fucking... GENIUS!
We, at MarcusD Technlogies have invented the Asus Radeon GT X1550, the crappiest graphics card the world has ever seen!

Wait, what? The RAM cards have leds on them too! What are you talking about? :P

Now another question. Where do I plug this plug? It just barely doesn't fit on the motherboard :sad:

Also, what could I use as thermal paste? Thermal paste is expensive a.f.

That looks like a floppy drive power connector. And the motherboard header looks like a 4-pin fan header.

Some people have used toothpaste as thermal paste. I wouldn't recommend it. Typically a tube of Arctic Silver 5 or similar costs $5-10 depending where you find it.

Well, ye, toothpaste sounds stupid :P Also, sorry, in the "nearest" (which is like ~40km away from me) PC shack, I can get thermal paste for ~2$ :P I'll probably just buy one if I can figure out how to power the fan.

Is that the GFX cooler? I'm guessing there's a header on your video card

I acquired the cooler from a (probably ded) GT640, and this is a passive cooled card, so there's no connector for it :(

Hoo boy, that makes this tricky. You're probably going to have to do some weird "solder+electrical tape+wire from an old 4 pin case fan" type thing, then

thats some priority connector
I'll get you started on the pins
black = GND
yellow = 12v
of course they may have changed the pin layout

Thanks, I'll try to hook up the fan on the motherboard, and I'll buy non-conductive thermal paste once I'll be near the "nearest" PC store.

I got annoyed by the "performance" of the shitty integrated graphics, so I (literally) pushed my Radeon X1550 into the case, but because of it, I can't close the case, nor can I place back the CPU cooler plastic back into its original position.

How can I cool the GPU without the stupidly loud USB fan?
And how can I cool the CPU properly?
Could I be able to "extract" the stuff from this case, and put it in a normal ATX case?

Buy a new case , a bigger one this time.
