Im extremely new to cakes. I've installed a9lh on about 3 3ds's so far, and i had to use cakes for the older ones. Anyway, one of the emunand bricked somehow, no idea why, but i need to restore it. Apparently my sysnan must have 10.4 native firm, because decrypt9 keeps rebooting back into the hbl. Also the link is down in the cakes cfw forum for the native firm.cakes. How do i change my sysnand native firm to 9.2 with cakes cfw?

Was the EmuNand ever working? If so, what was the last thing you did before it stopped working? Were you downgrading it to install A9LH, and have you already tried flashing an EmuNand backup to recover itEmuNand9?

It was working. What happened was when I re-installed the emunand the last time it was the bricked 2.1 emunand by accident.now I have no way of restoring it. Booting otphelper through the hbl kicks me back, and restoring on another 3ds gives me errors. I either need cakes working woth a 9.2 native firm or someway to boot decrypt9. If you can tell me how to use arm9loaderhay and arm9select and all that jazz id be set.

Sorry, what? Can you re-phrase that?

Have you already formatted SysNand, and do you have an actual EmuNAND.bin or SysNand.bin before formatting SysNand with TinyFormat/System Settings?

A9lh is installed. My emunand is bricked. Booting decrypt9 and other 9.0 natuve firm titles through sysnand through cakes boots me back to the hbl. I need one of two things. 1: run decrypt9 through arm9select or some other arm9 method. 2: find out how to change the cakes native firm on sysnand.

If you have A9LH installed, just set EmuNAND9.bin or Decrypt9.bin as your arm9loaderhax.bin payload (or attach them to arm9select since you seem to have that set up)

It works when i name decrypt9 arm9loaderhax.bin, but emunand9 keeps giving me a black screen. I need emunand9 to re-format the sd card. Since it was formated on another 3ds it's not recognizing emunand.bin for some reason.

so.... it's saying that it can't restore my emunand or sysnand from emunand.bin or sysnand.bin. "no usable file found". Now i can't uninstall a9lh to get into emunand9 that way. Im fucked.

Wait, formatted on another 3DS? You can't use another 3ds' emunand for your own 3ds: It must be system transferred through system settings. If you want the emunand.bin restored, you'd have to do it on the original 3ds it was formatted on.

I know. I tried formatting it on another 3ds because I couldn't run emunand9 on this 3ds. When I replace the a9lh payload with emunand9.bin it crashes. what's throwing me off is decrypt9 boots perfectly through it. Again a cake 9.0 sysnand native firm patch would help. I have no idea how to change the native firm. I replaced my FIRM_patched.bin with a 9.0 firm and nothing changed. So how could I boot emunand9?

Make sure you're using the latest release of EmuNAND9 on d0k3's github

It failed. No usable file.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
