Homebrew Aureinand or 10.7 battery drain problem?

I just switched to A9LH with AuReiNand (Sysnand)and I feel like the battery drains less compared to Rx Tools (Emuanad). Even though you can still play on your 3DS you can't rule out the bad battery possibility. Fast battery drainage is a sign of a battery that needs replacing.

So me and my friend just switch to 10.7 with Reinand (my friend), Aureinand (me cuz bottom screen splash) and somehow the 3ds suddenly wasnt able to hold their charge. One time i left the 3ds turn off (not sleep) for over a day and when turned on it was flashing red. Also i notice that my playtime from full charge to red reduce drastically (mh4u). Is this Reinand fault or 10.7? I used Rxtool 9.5 Emunand before the upgrade and it was fine. Any help appreciate, thanks
Btw, i use quick shutdown homebrew to turn off the 3ds

probably neither, I have been using AuReinand for 2 weeks on 10.7, might be an internal problem with the actual hardware

I've had no ill effects from it. And it's not like it keeps charging once it's fully charged. Unless someone can prove me otherwise I'm gonna keep believing that the system self regulates and stops charging once the system is fully charged.

because AFAIK the console has over charging protection, when the battery is charged it stops charging it...
this is done in a lot of devices.. the 3ds originally come with a charging craddle, i don't see nintendo neglecting it...

anyway. i had my console in a drawer for several months without using it.. now that i installed aureinand i don't think the battery is lasting as before (maybe 30 or 1 hour less) but i can't give an accurate opinion because the console is over 2 years old and i abandoned it more than half a year..

Whenever you leave it without use for a long time i read somewhere that you need to charge it fully then drain it completetely and repeat twice(i think) to avoid battery issues.

i seen a lot of theese recomendations, always different, or maybe it's one for each type of battery
in my sony camera manual it said to fully discharge the battery if i plan to don't use it for a long time...

Interesting topic to run across. I just setup my N3DS XL with a9lh + AuReiNAND SysNAND 10.7 and I was thinking my battery was draining faster as well.
I just made the move the move yesterday so I need more time to test, but it does seem like it drained quicker then usual.

I testing this myself since maybe lots of ppl here just started with 10.7 so they wont know the different from older fw

The battery get worse overtime even without using it. I think max is 20 years under normal temperature.

Btw, if you use 10.7 from the start then maybe you dont know the different, my battery is still not that bad (can still play for a very lont time), it's just "feel " shorter by comparision to 9.5 somehow and im sure it's not just me

Neither Aureinand or 10.7 itself have caused me any difference in battery drainage.
Im not "just starting" at 10.7. Ive had many different CFWs and system versions.
And like someone said.. if its draining while turned off, the software is not the issue.
I think OP is either paranoid or having hardware issues, as already stated.

It's just you. Your firmware should not have any effect on your 3DS's battery life. My boyfriend bought his 3DS 4 years ago and this battery life is the same today as it was 4 years ago. My 3DS is well over 4 years old as well (might be older since it was bought used,) and the battery life is still the same as when I got it.
Like what has already been said before, it's either your battery is having issues, there's a hardware issue, or you're paranoid. Have you tested another battery to determine if the battery is completely without fault. If another battery still shits the bed, then it's most likely hardware related. But I can safely say that neither AuReiNAND nor 10.7 are causing your battery problems.

It could be me paranoid. Maybe me playing 1 hour each time makes it feel shorter, anyway, I'll keep observing to see how thing goes and actualy provide some data

1-) You said it "feels" like the battery life is shorter... Well, this could be a nocebo effect, "feeling something" is not evidence or conclusive testing, you should time your battery and share your exact results.

Stop this nonsense about batteries overcharging. They have built in protection for that and the 3ds itself probably has some charge regulating chip that also has overcharge protection. You don't need to use the battery until empty twice and so on. It was important 15-20 years ago when the battery had an "memory effect". Current batteries does not have that! In fact, if you drain the battery too much it could stop accepting charge again and the battery are dead, they have cut out protection so that this doesn't happen, under and overcharge protection and temperature monitoring built in, in the battery or in the enclosure for the battery itself.
You don't need to charge modern batteries before first use and so on. It a remnant left from the time when that was actually a thing but we have moved on since then.

1. You could leave your 3ds plugged in 24/7 without any problems.
2. You do not need to discharge the battery and charge it up again two times, three times, whatever times. Just charge and use as normal..
3. You can start to play with your new electronics right away. You don't need to plug the stuff in and leave it for x hours. That's from the old days, when it mattered. It doesn't matter now!

well I'm not some noob who nod to every comments. I'm asking for a more advance advice rather than just an old "Your battery is bad" which i know is not. What kind of bad battery didnt drain when use but did when turn off. Also i do know better (compare to normal user ofc) cuz i spent like 2 or 3 days reading about battery, thank you

Everyone that is saying it's bad to charge your battery overnight is wrong. While older batteries should never be left in the chargers past being charge, it hasn't been that way for electronics for quite awhile now. Batteries are okay to leave charged all the time, doesn't hurt them nor shorten their life. Letting the battery drain all the way out is bad and having it sit with no juice over extended periods will kill the battery.

I have a N3DS setup through menuhax + AuReiNand with 10.7 emunand. Twice when I've tried to shutdown the console (using power button and then clicking at the Power Down on the screen) the console didn't turned off properly, staying on, with disabled screens, but using wifi and CPU when I folded the console. When I've arrived at home to charge it, red light blinking.
I dunno if the console actually failed to shutdown properly, or if I've got a really bad timing and made it enter at sleep mode while shutting down, but there it is, sometimes you may think that the console was turned off but it isn't. Now I actually wait for all the leds to turn off with the console unfolded.

EDIT: In case you need to store your console or other Li-Ion battery, first you should charge/discharge the battery to something around 60~70% of it's capacity, then remove the battery, and once at every 6 months, guarantee that the battery is with this charge (probably you'll have to recharge a bit). The battery shouldn't be at it's maximum charge neither next to zero.
