OP, here's a definitive answer for you (and for all other people that check this thread, since it keeps being brought up).
At this current time, you cannot play NDS roms in a 3DS without spending money, so if you want to play them, get a flashcart.
Lucky for us all though, you won't need to buy one of those fancy (and expensive!) flashcarts exclusively for 3DS; just get one of those old NDS flashcarts (they're dirt-cheap) and use @Apache Thunder 's Slot-1 Launcher to boot 'em up.

Developers have their right to develop whatever homebrew they want. Making a homebrew that "people want" is not a duty to developers, so basically I don't really understand why you hate that.

I know that everyone is ignoring you by now, i've been reading threads this whole week and i felt like replying just for once.
All the "shitty homebrew games" may not be the best, but is at least something that is already freaking fun!.
you also say no one makes homebrew that people wants. Just take a look at PHBank! at all the emulators done and some funny ports of other games and all the support on these homebrews.

if you keep on your position of "oh diz dev isn't making the homebrew i want" the go learn C or C++ or any programming language that is supported and do them yourself. And don't come with "it's too hard for me to understand" you're not paying any developer to make the "homebrew you want", and being a developer doesn't magically turn em' in "THE SUPERIOR GODS OF PROGRAMMING" a lot of work has to be done, testing, debugging takes time. So go ahead, you want a homebrew that suits you? do it yourself. You think you know how to convert a .nds to a .cia for your console? (referring to that twl thread that gave birth to the twl slot-1 launcher) THEN GO AND PROGRAM IT BY YOURSELF!!....

Dude actually any parent would like to jailbreak a console to not spend money on retail games, if they don't play and can't afford games a flashcard is the best option to keep their child happy.

Get a prepaid Visa card. Get it delivered to a friend's house. If you don't have any money, get a job.
Also, "not having time" is no excuse if you are still in school like it sounds. I work full time, do university part time, practice cello and play bridge, and still have a second job tutoring school students three evenings after work! And there's loads of people on these forums who have kids of their own who work full time and have second jobs etc.
the only valid excuse would be if you were already working and your family wasn't too well off and needed all the money you earned to function day to day. But I think this is unlikely, if they can't spare $10 for a flashcart I doubt they're going to buy you a $200 gaming console.
