So I downgraded my 2ds today to 9.2 today and decided to try to get Arm9LoaderHax on it. I succeeded up until Section 4 of Part 4 where you have to restore the SysNand. I backed up my SysNand and it is 943 MB. When I go to restore it on the 2ds from OTPHelper I get

Opening sysNAND_original.bin...
NAND backup has the wrong size!
SysNAND Restore: failed!

Can anybody help me out?

Thanks

I should mention when I booted up SysNand with the 2.1.0 on it I had a black screen until I took out my SD Card which the guide said was normal. I put it back in when I got to the home screen.

I think that size is smaller than usual. I think they're usually 1.6GB. You might have a bad dump. You could just update through the regular update option and downgrade again because 10.7 can be downgraded.

Yeah, you're right, my number was way off and both my o3ds nand dumps are around 943mb. I guess I was thinking about N3ds nand dumps. Still, you COULD have a bad dump even if the size is right.

If you can't restore your sysnand, I think the only thing left you can do is update to 10.7 and downgrade again. Since browserhax and menuhax were patched, you'll need OoTHax or Ninjhax. Maybe browserhax works on 2.1 and you can use sysupdater to get to 9.2?

Not that I know of, but you could try multiple programs. Maybe try OTPHelper for a nand restore, or Decrypt9. I forgot which is used in the tutorial. Maybe try and make an emunand using that nand dump and see if it works? I doubt that will work though, as it will probably check that it's a valid dump first.

Alright Ill try

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It also failed to restore my redNand backup. Somethings not right. Why would I have three failed dumps..

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Im going to try backing up my SD card and reformatting it than trying again.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Nope Didnt Work. Ill just update to 10.7 and redowngrade. I have the OTP file so will I still be able to install Arm9Loader without redoing the entire thing?

Well If I were to brick I would just return it to target. I bought it to learn on so Im pretty much expecting to brick it at some point xD. Since I have the OTP file already do I need to redo the whole guide for a9loaderhax?

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
