I'd expect support for 3D wallpapers is pretty much out of the question for a host of reasons..but please forgive me for bringing it up. I'd convert a few of my themes into 3D, 800x240 top screen versions in a flash if this feature was somehow magicked into reality.

So two questions. First is when I go into the updater it says my installed version is b135 but the current version is b136 but when I update it it's still b135 any time I return to the updater.

Second question is there a way to just install the launcher as a CIA so that I can have normal home button functionality like other 3ds apps? Right now if I block the home button it just flashes and does nothing if I click exit sometimes it gets stuck. I'm using emunand with a9lh.

yeah the version.h file on GitHub contains b136 but the download hasn't been updated yet.

you can't install the homebrew launcher as a .cia, it won't work as you expect. you can use hblauncher_loader and that's about it.

The answer to ur first question is a page or 2 back

Thanks for quickly answering my questions. Hopefully some day it will be possible to install it as acia with that kind of function but if not at least I know why the update isn't downloading.

I actually did build the grid launcher as a .cia, it does work with home menu functionality but trying to run anything just crashes because it's not running under *hax.

Hmm I wonder if there is a way to fix that.
I think the only way would be to have the launcher itself boot the hax payload and then trigger the running of the homebrew app. This would involve either using a modified payload which could read a parameter for which 3dsx it should boot from somewhere (so the launcher could write this parameter before booting the payload so the correct app is launched), or use a payload with a preset file to boot (say, '/grid.3dsx') and then the launcher overwrites this file with whatever 3dsx was selected before booting the payload. In any case, you won't be able to use the home button once you're actually within a homebrew app since the payload would have been started by then, so this would only be of benefit while you're actually in the launcher. Quitting the homebrew app you're currently in would kick you back to the launcher but still with the hax payload resident, so you still wouldn't get the benefit of it running as a CIA. To be honest, it's probably not worth it.

Yeah I see what you're saying so it's not really any better than the current situation.

The only thing I can think of that I'd love to see is 3D wallpaper support. If that appeared I'd convert a bunch of my themes into 3D top screen versions in a flash. However I don't imagine for a minute that this would be possible to implement without a lot of pain. And none of this should ever be painful.
