Thought so... That sucks, I was so happy when I saw the swap o/x tutorial :( Shame you can't switch PSN accounts without restore default settings. Damn it Sony. I guess I will have to update to 3.55 and wait on new exploit to be discovered or see if Sony change their mind and release a successor to Vita. I think they refer to Vita as legacy hardware and have no plans to release another handheld :(

If I upgrade from 3.52 to 3.55, TN-V v11 and ARKv2 should still work, I just can't inject them anymore without exploitable PSP game right?

Exploits that rely on the email exploit, and the email exploit itself, are all patched in 3.55. If you desperately need to play that new Vita game you have, go ahead and manually update to 3.55.

Yeah. I know the mail exploit itself will no longer work. But the PSP demos with TN-V/ARK injected will stay and work right?

I just spent a day injecting TN-V/ARK into three different Vita Memory Cards (US PSN, JP PSN and HK PSN) :P

Yeah, the TN-V and ARK bubbles will still work. :)

use the FTP program for vita, grab the files then use the patcher and then add them back, this is for 3.55, I have tnv and ark installed and I'm locked out of qcma and open cma, so I have to use FTP for everything. If you install "ARK" then you should have the FTP program installed as well. This is the method I use for transferring psp games to my ps-tv vita as well.

"Note: This process could damage your Vita and possibly delete your PSN activation!"

the guide only references 3.52 ... most games have the option to allow you to reassign buttons.

Can you elaborate on which FTP program? VitaFtp? How do you access/modify the Vita registry from that?

Well,he said he need a solution to permanently swap the buttons.

This is literally a swap method.
I guess so...
But it'd take a bit of fiddling since it's basically a hardware mod.

To be honest, with that in mind, I think it would be just better to set the registry hack up every time you restore the Vita.
Then again, it does depend if OP has any experience in the sort of thing you suggested..

Plus, if OP was to do the hardware mod, it would be affecting every single application/game he plays on the Vita. So it might get confusing if the game tells you to press the X button but when you literally/accidentally press the X button, you're actually pressing the circle button, and it'd be quite hard to get to grips with in my opinion. ;)

Setting up button remap in Accessibility settings would be essentially the same as hardmod. It will swap the meaning of o/x for everything (Japanese games will now use x for confirm). Would do the registry hack on restore, but need to be on 3.55 so no more fail mail exploit. Oh well, I will live with X for confirm till something else allows registry edit > 3.52

OK,found a good solution,and it doesn't require hardmod.
Just paint over the buttons with matte black color and then draw X and O on the buttons.

it annoys me, sony let's devs check what the confirmation button is (O or X) - but contrary to what someone posted above, so many games have the O or X button hardcoded. i can't remember any which don't, i think it's the minority that check your value, right...?
having a region free system, things like that are important if you want the user to be comfortable.
although, even though the vita is technically region free, in practice it is no so much since accounts are locked and it's strict, different stores for different countries, different countries stores dlc for the wrong region game sometimes working, but usually not - for no real reason... annoying.
:)

anyway, i prefer the O button as confirmation. X is a pretty international symbol for 'wrong' (cancel) :D

It's a shame that it's not easy to turn a retail Vita into one of those kiosk vitas. They have a lot of cool stuff, including the X/O swap feature in the settings! I only discovered what it all was yesterday, but unfortunately, those CEX -> UDI cards are probably not for sale, and probably cost around $800-900...

Yeah, but with a hardmod you tamper with the hardware and not the software. ;)
