Title. I've had one installed sine the days of Ironhax on 9.9 and it's rather basic - choose a title through HBL, and it either dumps the save or restores it depending on button pressed. Anything with a nice GUI or anything? Thanks!

There is:
  • profi200's Save Manager, the one you are using.
  • svdt/tvds, to browse and manage files.
  • JK's Save Manager, to manage backups. (CIA only)
  • SaveDataFiler, to browse and manage files. (CIA only)

Right now the best is JK's save manager since it ignores secure values and work on real carts and possibly sky3ds.

... is JK's available as 3dsx..? No, cia only.
So far only CIA but maybe we can ask him @JK_ does your save manager work as a 3dsx or does it need more permissions?

Gocario means that it's only available as cia, while Xenon thinks that "cia only" means it won't read retail games (also how I understood it first...) just a misunderstanding :)

And yeah, it's not too much a matter of permissions, but if you were to port JK to 3dsx, you would end up with an inferior clone of svdt :)

I know there is only a CIA hence I tagged JK to see if a 3dsx version is even possible or if he needs more permissions.

It needs more permissions. Especially now that it can get into system save data and boss extdata. The 3dsx can only open regular extdata. Opening anything else gives errors.

JK's save manager doesn't see to work. Tried with latest stable version.
According to your post in the other thread, it says something went wrong. That only means it had an issue reading the title of something. It should still work, it might just be missing a game or two on the list. If it's crashing, I'm working on that. I've looked through it and think I've caught what's probably causing it. It's the rest of the stuff I added that isn't exactly ready to go.

Yeah, I went and tried the demo build and it works great. Thanks for your work on the tool!

Svdt is the best for homebrew.

None of them. Theyre all extremely annoying and have stupid quirks you need to cheat the system to get it to import what you want. JK's is the least annoying but is still obnoxious.

Why can't someone make a save manager that lets you just simply pick the game you want to import a save for, let you choose the folder of contents you want to import and then just fucking do it?

Im using oot to get into homebrew and I'm trying to dump the pokemon yellow VC save.

The save manager crashes on it. It doesn't on other VC games just yellow. I've tried svdt but I can't seem to figure out how to choose a different game. The folders are all empty.
