unfortunately, we can set anything to the FCRAM framebuffers, the GPU can't access it and it hangs... vram is better anyways which is what we're currently using: https://github.com/dark-samus/arm9l...n_init/source/screen_init/screen_init.c#L4-L5

My top screen literally glitches out a little bit as anything loads, half of it shows static fuzz similar to that of menuhax without a theme.

Aha, yeah I'm trying. I've built it fine, but I keep getting stuck on launching the 3dsx at the start. I mentioned it a few posts back, but I've tried browserhax, menuhax and the cakes cfw then browserhax, still freezes at the start. I'll try building it again later, as originally I never had any problems and it booted first time when I initially installed it.

Make sure you're loading it from 9.x firmware. It WILL work from emuNAND.

why not just use the "fancy updater" that @roflpwnt linked to?

I just wanna report that updating was successful on my old 3ds XL and it showed the splash immediately!

Here's a tiny tutorial for AuReiNAND users who don't wanna scroll back a few pages (this might not be the correct procedure on new 3ds)

This worked for me right now, I installed the original arm9loaderhax a few days ago:

1. Get installer.zip from here
2. Rename install.bin to arm9loaderhax.bin
3. Rename your AuReiNAND arm9loaderhax.bin (to something like arm9loaderhaxRenameMeAfterUpdate.bin)
4. Copy arm9loaderhax.bin (renamed from installer.bin) and stage0x5C000.bin into the root of the sd card
5. Boot up your 3ds, press A to update. It'll shut itself off after a really short time.
6. Put the sd card back into your pc and delete arm9loaderhax.bin and stage0x5C000.bin. You don't need those anymore.
7. Rename your AuReiNAND arm9loaderhaxRenameMeAfterUpdate.bin back to arm9loaderhax.bin
8. Boot up your 3ds and you're done!

The updater updates a part of a9lh that doesnt need OTP, its already worked for many people here, me included.
