I don't know too much about prices, but I thought a 960GB SSD would be really expensive.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211984

But you have to change selection to 960gb

Is there any catches? Like is it slow or something? And can it fit into an MSI 970a-g46 if I remove my current HDD?

Newegg is trolling me. Just google search this:
ADATA Premier SP550 2.5" 240GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ASP550SS3-240GM-C

And change selection to 960gb

No catches the larger the SSD is the faster it is Usually

DONT GET TLC it is the worst flash type its what generic flashdrives used and the reason why SSDs were originally drying in under a year

you want MLC which is the standard for most SSDs in the last couple of years

MLC will give you better performance and Life

Also all SSDs are the size of laptop HDs so it will fit

@squee666 I started randomly looking at SSDs on Newegg because of this thread, and I was wondering if I could assume that the SSD is TLC unless otherwise mentioned. Is this a good rationale to have when shopping?

If you're looking at $220 for it, you might as well spend the extra $10 for the Mushkin Reactor 1TB. There's even a $10 discount coupon which brings it down to the same price, and I'm pretty sure you'll get better performance.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
