Can someone with a hardmod test out using decrypt9 to dump emunands crtrnand partition, dumping sysnands ctrnand partition as a back up and then injecting emunands partition into sysnand to see if your emunand games appear in sysnand afterwards?

Apache Thunder did that and it worked for him.

And you need to update your firmware.bin too.

I wouldn't say to do that if it didn't work.

Yes but he also did all the other partitions too. I tried this with injecting sysnand partitions into emunand but ended with a non working emunand.
What partitions did you injected ?

if you send me your binaries I will compile to back you in 24 hours.

but I recommend you to build it yourself. you know why. if you don't mind send me.
It's not that :P I already had someone else compile a9lh for me for my n3DS, but I kinda want to figure out how to do it on my own for my 2DS.

In the AuReiNAND makefile, there is reference to just "arm-none-eabi-gcc". I had to change that to "C:\devkitPro\devkitARM\bin\arm-none-eabi-gcc.exe", which is the full path where arm-none-eabi-gcc.exe lies on my PC. I did the same for the rest of the commands referenced. After that it got a little farther, but I have more errors now. Is something installed wrong?

Ok, this is weird. I've written a 9.2 NAND backup back to my 3DS and reinstalled a9lh. It boots sysnand, and it's definitely booting through a9lh as it hangs on a black screen if I try to boot with no SD card. So far so good.

However, if I enter HBL from here, run FBI and try to install FBI.cia, I get the same error (DESCRIPTION_INVALID_COMMAND) which indicates I am not running CFW. Can I only install FBI from HBL if I'm not running from a9lh?!

arm9loaderhax keeps stuck on a black screen when there is no SD card.

I think that's the way it works on 3DS period; you can't install any CIAs until you have a CIA installer installed. That's why you need to inject one through the Health and Safety app. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I did it because I got the same errors as you.

You should be able to install FBI using homebrew menu through 9.2 sysnand on a9lh.

I know. I meant that I am certain that a9lh is installed and taking control of the boot process because it black screens without SD card (rather than booting to sysnand).

Ok, I'm restoring 9.2 again. I'll boot minipasta, install FBI, and then try installing a9lh.

Frustration intensifies.

Damn. So any idea why it won't work for me?

It's not taking control over anything :p it is just being run on boot, that's all

Are you using a 9.2 FIRM for your firmware.bin ?

Oh, I thought it actually replaced something in the boot process :)

I have firmware.bin and firmware90.bin in /rei on my SD card. Should I rename firmware90.bin to firmware.bin to make it use that one until I update sysnand to 10.5?
