That's really interesting... Had no idea it worked that way. I have a feeling I'll finally retire vwii emulation when the hacks are out.

There's still a way's to go on the WiiU side even once IOSU is available to dev's that don't already have it. Smea has hinted at emuNAND, and Loadiine is making progress, but vWii is very mature and I think it will always be my go-to for Wii/GC/VC titles and such, and I'll just use Loadiine for WiiU games and WiiU specific eShop content.

Some of you people need to seriously get a life other than typing these ridiculously long paragraphs about bitching and moaning.
No one is forcing you to come here.
If you don't like it how developers brag, don't release stuff on time, tease you, etc. Then gtfo. They can do whatever they want and pretty much have the right after all the hard work it takes to create an exploit.

Your posts literally have no contribution to this thread. Other than driving developers away.
Please, youre complaining more than anyone here has in pages. If anyone has proven themselves useless, it is you.
At least it is talk of development, even though not actually helping, input on the topic is more valuable than trying to say someone doesn't have a life. Honestly that post is laughably hypocritical. 2 cents are worth more than petty insults.

I found this under a bridge somewhere. Ironically its how I imagine it. https://clyp.it/u2xt5gcx

This thread is created for us Hackers/Developers to discuss possible hacking vectors and possibly in the future enable real homebrew. The exploit is currently almost completely useless if not fully useless for the normal consumer, however check back here often we have a kernel exploit and will soon be using it to develop cool stuff. Under this block of text so will you find useful information, if you want something added please contact me either via this topic (if its relevant to the discussion) or via PM. Have a nice discussion

In that case, the "Cafe" would be second in ".cfsd" (because F = Cafe, idk why).

Could be, actually. Good thinking! [emoji14]
F = Cafe, because "Project Cafe" is the codename of the Wii U.

Example: NX is the codename of the upcoming Nintendo system.

Anyway, just for fun:
BFSTM stands for "Binary Cafe Stream".

I know that. I was confused about why "F" and not "C" means Cafe. :P

Edit: Probably because "C" was used for 3DS files already, so they went with "F". :p

Hello, I'm a totally new member, but I have an urgent problem...So I bought a pre-owned basic 8GB Wii U months ago, and it worked fine. The Wii Mode never worked though so I was confused about that. Then, when the 5.4 software update came out, I tried updating, but I kept getting an error so I stayed on 5.32. I figured out that the previous owner must have hacked the Wii U and that's why Wii Mode didn't work, and the update wouldn't go through. So recently, I decided I would get a deluxe black Wii U, and transfer everything from my old one to the new one. I realized then the system transfer would only work if both systems were up to date and obviously my old one isn't. The problem is I already sold my old Wii U and am planning on shipping it out tomorrow (Saturday), which is the same day I will be getting my new deluxe one. I was planning on transferring everything over and then shipping, but now I can't do that without updating, and I can't update! So is there any way to delete whatever Homebrew/hack/mod was on my old Wii U without deleting any of my game save data and stuff? Or is there any way I can bypass the hack, and get it to update to the latest firmware? By the way, I'm not an experienced hacked or modded at all, so yea...I would REALLY appreciate help, as I need this to be resolved by tomorrow afternoon! If you have any solutions or ideas, please reply! Thanks.

Could you almost open Wii mode? I mean, are you able to see disc channel, mii channel, etc.? Or the vwii is completly broken and you can't even open it withoit the Wii U crashing?

Yes, it's just raw FFL Mii data, always 96 bytes big, probably preset Guests or something
That wouldn't be 110 files of Guests, though. :P

This could actually be one of two things, looking back on it. It's definitely Mii data, no doubt. First case would make a little bit more sense, considering they're all the same size. When playing online in Mario Kart, Miis of the players you encountered are visible under "Friends and Rivals". The slots are vast, I don't know the exact number of rivals the console displays, but given the number of .cfsd files, this could be the possible use of the file.

Second potential use is equally fitting, but less satifsying, to me at least. This use could be the use of the "Mii" character as a playable entity in the game (for example, when playing Mario Kart Wii, the Mii data was stored in the Wiimote, so when you selected this Mii in-game, you'd have the actual Mii loaded over the Mii's in-game model, which face is blank by default).

This fits well under the fact that the files are the same size, so I'm a little confused as to what it could actually be.

Anyone to tell me where it's used gets a jar of cookies. o(^_-)O

How would I post a sysCheck? And idk know how to even access whatever Homebrew or hack the previous owner had..

Right when I open it, it goes completely black and I have to restart the Wii U..So it's probably completely broken.
