sorry for kick-in in another hykem thread but try this:
download SD formatter, backup all files from your SD ( microsd) card to PC and format with this options in SDFormatter:
Format type : FULL (overwrite), Format size adjustment : ON. after formatting copy your previously backup to SD
also i can suggest you to try another card reader if you use one.
ps i got 5.5.0 fw, but method with Sdformatter save me bunch of times with card troubles

Thanks, Durig/Maximilious! It turns out the micro SD I got off of ebay was a fake. I didn't know that was as common as it apparently is. I would have been pulling my hair out in frustration for a week. Anyway, I tried Mario Kart on a 16 GB Kodak SD card and it seems to be working as expected. Thanks again for the help!

"It's kind of unnecessary to release anything right now, since the IOSU exploit is on its way."
Yes, it's just around the FUCKING CORNER
And we are going to explore that fucking corner SOON

For you maybe it doesn't matter, but for them it does ^^.
You missed my point. I meant, why should it matter? IOSU is coming out anyways. Why not just give the people what they want instead of throwing it all to the garbage because somebody else is going to release something better? Just release the kernel. Why the unnecessary wait? The waiting until it's patched thing is pretty much invalid now since people are going to get the IOSU exploit regardless.

Exactly my point. Why the wait? Just release it. That is unless they're expecting a kernal exploit to be necessary on the next updates to install IOSU.

Just cause they don't realease it now doesn't mean it's thrown in garbage ^^, they are stockpiling it, it's always good to have a working kernel exploit for future firmwares it is used to get access to other things, and explore the system, while releasing it now would be a waste ^^, it's like u throw a key that always allowed u to access this door to knowledge :D.
I understand this might be a bit hard for you to understand as a normal user :), but you just need to trust the devs in this, I can assure you, devs like MN1 want nothing other than the best scene possible for Wii U.

I'm aware of that. I dont think I'm a noob when it comes to hacking... Hykem said the IOSU exploit would be permenant. Virtualy couldn't be patched if I recall since it gave you access to the Wii U boot system. So kernal exploits would become obsolete unless you were a completely new user who would decide to update past 5.5.1, which isn't even possible right now. I'd understand what you're saying but I think it's going to be a while before the Wii U gets an update. It's already been a month and no patch for 5.5.1 yet. Nintendo is taking their sweet time.

Uhmm that's something new to me, as far as I know IOSU is contained within OSv11 which means it's totally updatable, hence patchable :)
But I'm open to hear your input on backing up that claim ^^.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
