So i acidentally went into setting up my NNID and my system updated to 10.5 (Emunand, not sysnand) and wanted to know if rxtools supports 10.5 because my system booted into emunand.
Heres proof my system says its on 10.5.0-30U, but only the text changed, my system still acts likes it on 9.2 since ntr still works and cant acess eshop.
don't know if this is the right place to post this since this is my first thread.
(does it belong in the Flashcart/CFW section?)
This is what i was doing for this to happen:
I followed a guide that showed how to play online under 10.4 which involved updating nand files which made my system able to play online by updating certain system files to go online which tricked my system into thinking i'm on 10.5 when i entered my nnid
and updated the system setting text but my system technically is still on 9.2.
i know this cause ntr still works and on apllications like eshop say there is a new firmware update yet i was somehow able to link my nnid and there are no ammibo settings on my home menu settings.

No rxtools doesnt support it on a new 3ds. Install reinand and it will work fine with your emunand, I am using reinand with 10.5 emunand on a new 3ds with no problems.

Well look at the pic he posted and read his post. It seems to me that he is running rxTools on emuNAND 10.5 on a n3ds without a problem.

I am pretty sure he is just wondering why it is booting into emuNAND since everyone knows that rxTools shouldnt support 10.5 on the NEW 3ds

Lol well..... Why didnt you just use 9.2 sysnand and update emunand to 10.5 and use reinanand? Everything works and you can use eshop etc.

So you havent even updated your emuNAND to 10.5? It just says it in the firmware text?

Yes, it only says it in the text as far as i know. Not going to check if anything else changed out of fear that my system will brick.
Your system will not brick. Since you're only messing with your emuNAND and not your sysNAND. Worst case scenario, your emuNAND breaks and you can simply create another one.

Yeah, I suggest you move to ReiNand like others have recommended. It's a lot better to have a pure NAND so you can avoid any sort of complications down the road.

Does reinand offer the same things/features as RxTools?
I heard it's a "bare-bones cfw" while reading a tutorial on setting it up.
and does ntr work on reinand at 10.5 emunand?

AFAIK, the only thing it lacks that rxTools has is region free patching, a dev menu (which doesn't work on N3DS anyway), and built in Pasta Mode. The benefit of it though is that it supports the latest firmware, and Aurora Wright's mod has some added benefits. You can substitute the dev menu with BigBlueMenu, and Pasta Mode with MiniPasta.

I have both an O3DS with RxTools and a N3DSXL with ReiNAND. They both get the job done no problem. The only thing you aren't getting in ReiNAND is the tools that RxTools has, which you honestly won't use in the first place. One thing about Rei is that it isn't region free on the home menu, so if you install a CIA that hasn't been region-free patched, it won't show up on the home screen until you run NTR.

Why do people still use RXTools
I mean, it's stable and it has a lot of tools, hence the name. Some of the tools included in it are pretty useful to some people. Plus it supports region free on the home menu, which is a definite plus if you plan to install a bunch of out-of-region games that aren't patched to show up on normal home screens. Granted, it doesn't support 9.5+ Emunand on the N3DS, but for those of us who own O3DSes, RxTools is a very nice option to have!

Well almost every region exclusive CIA release is region-patched from the get go so I don't really see the point in that.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I've installed JP CIAs that only showed up after running something like NTR, so oops. But I mean, RxTools does have benefits as all CFWs do. It also has that nifty menu you can boot into in order to access the actual "tools" section of the CFW (like dumping things, installing FBI over the H&S app, etc.) and it lets you boot into a Pasta-patched Sysnand from that menu too, which might be nice for some people.
