I really hope he goes through with this! I'm concerned about how it would turn out though, if it really were to be reprogrammed from scratch. It wouldn't be the same. Who knows? Maybe Nintendo will even add support for Game Maker. Either way, I'd still get it. It is Undertale after all.Even Toby has a say in this:

Gonna be keeping track of that guy. Might be interesting, considering he has the battle system already working.
He's doing some damn good work as far as I can tell. He's using the SDK, so it's not homebrew, but hell Toby might collaborate with him. Who knows, though I'm so jelly and impressed at the same time.

I'm kind of confused how he's doing this. This seems more like a straight up port of the original game optimized for the 3DS rather than a clone from scratch like that other project that was abandoned.
Game Maker doesn't officially support Nintendo systems either, so this has me a bit confused.
Could anybody explain how he's possibly doing this? Is he using the original game's code, or is this a recreation from scratch?

Now this is a port that's getting somewhere.
It's a shame that it won't likely ever get released unless the dev talks to Toby Fox, though.

Holy shit. If this becomes a thing then I will be immensely happy. Although I'm wondering how the parts where the game closes down will work.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better. -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
