I don't understand what you're talking about by "homebrew button remapping". Do you mean remapping the A button to the B button, for example ?
I guess it would require Kernel11, or to patch the game: however, a patch would have to be done for each game for the remapping.

What he's talking about is a sort of RemaPSP for 3DS (If you don't know RemaPSP: http://localhost.geek.nz/remapsp/remapsphowto.html ).
To achieve such piece of code, what should be done is patch hid service applet or have a thread opened when game is currently running with an higher priority which get hid sharedmem and modify it according to the remapping scheme (this is basically how RemaPSP works, sourcecode here: http://localhost.geek.nz/remapsp/remapspsrc.zip ).

I have a great example; Roxas75. He has spend so much time on this 3DS Toolkit, but people didn't give a shit about that and stole his OWN work just to enable piracy on it (which he absolutly didn't want)
It was a sad story :(
RIP Roxas

Except Roxas said several times that he didn't really give a shit. It's open for a reason mate, you can't steal what's already open.

And when have people not given credit to Roxas in any way? We all know he da man, man.

It's called a hobby. Most of these guys work a 9-5 like everyone else, or attend school. It's to this being a hobby to some people still that have much better things to do in their life that some of these things have came to even exist in the scene.
Despite the suspension, he keeps on being a dick..

No, you wont. Developers have to pay their shit and live their lives, just they make something useful to other people and they share it. And then the user just gets it and doesnt give a shit about how much work has the dev put on it.

FFS, respect the developers.
Gotta love dick riding white knights. I make my living as a Web developer and networks administrator, so I know exactly what a thankless job being a developer can be. Only difference between me and these hobbyist devs is that I *have* to churn out what people demand, otherwise I don't get paid. I also RE malware as a hobby, so I have a fairly decent understanding of exploitation, debugging, and all that other jazz as well. Trust me, I'd love to get on the 3DS train, but I just have no time.

Despite the suspension, he keeps on being a dick..
*eyerolls* If you're not a sycophant here, you're apparently just a dick.

Last edited by Joom,
That, and the few people that can develop are stingy.
Stingy devs? REALLY?
The small amount of devs that actually share stuff have shared a fair bit and if it wasn't for them there WOULD BE NO HOMEBREW period (looking at smealum yellows8 etc etc all those guys).
Think yourself lucky they've shared this much with the world. :)

I was more or less referring to SALT Team and those involved in the Wii U scene. The "we found it, so can you" mentality makes up the majority unfortunately.

You could've been more specific, a statement like the one you did will do nothing but stir up drama.

If people decide to get butthurt over something that doesn't directly apply to them, that's their problem. Good developers know who they are, and non-developers need not get offended since it has nothing to do with them.
