Hello everyone,

I recently received a Gateway card and brought my N3DS MH4U Edition to 9.2 and have EmuNAND updated to 10.5.

The one mistake I did was not being able to back up SysNAND before formatting EmuNAND from the GW menu (because I assumed EmuNAND Format would only format the SD card) and to my surprise, SysNAND was back at its bare minimum. I have all my puchased eShop games and save data backed up on my PC, so I thought maybe I could transfer them.

Now for the longest while, I didn't want to make a post because there were plenty of guides on transferring saved data using SDF, SVDT, ect. However, those tools would not create a .sav file upon exporting. Of course just slapping the .sav and the ExtData to the new NAND ID only causes the savedata to corrupt and become invalid.

So now I ask you folks, is there anyone that would like to assist in transferring my MH4U save data? I will only send the file in PM.

Thanks and regards,

Lone

is mh4u one the few games which the save is on your sd card and not on the cartbridge ?

I'm assuming that you have to export your save and bring it to your emunand where you'll set your Nand ID as the same as the one you got before you formatted your sd card.

I did the same mistake yesterday on my o3ds 9.2 by making a sysnand backup but not exporting it to my PC. Fortunetly, i had 0 content to reedem, all my saves are on the cart and the themes were previously transfered to my N3ds.

Most of my games are eShop purchases. MH4U is the only one I do not want to lose data on, the rest I'm fine starting over. I cannot really use the EmuNAND for my save, nor the SysNAND, as when I did the EmuNAND format it wiped out my SysNAND for no apparent reason, so my saves are literally in limbo.

If the save itself can be transferred, I'm fine. However, the tools I used (SDF and SVDT) did not do it for me since they both dont creat .sav file but create everything else.

I would like to create the user file, but issues with exporting save sucks to create one. Also that site has a size limit that is smaller than I think it should be.

EDIT: Looking into JK's Save Manager...

EDIT2: I installed a .cia version of MH4U onto the SysNAND and found out my saves still works... so how do I go about importing this from SysNAND to EmuNAND? Those save data tools don't really work outside of Emu...

EDIT3: Managed to export the save data finally... now to inject it.

EDIT4: Injecting worked. Save data is now on both Sys and Emu and confirmed working.

I know the answer is answered but

No, MH4U stores its save file and the 10 active guild quests on the cartridge. Only the pre-settings you create, the additionnal guild quests and the event quests are placed in one of the extdata folders. (I would like to know wich one ^^)

now you have yo unlink your sys and emu nand. Go to your sysnand, remove your sd from your 3ds and settings (format console).
