Hi guys, it's me again. Sorry for the post but, I'm having trouble playing with my brother on certain games. We have 3DS and 2DS.

US 2DS = sysNAND 9.2 and emuNAND 10.5
EU 3DS = sysNAND 4.3 and emuNAND 10.5

We decided to get the same games with each other and quite frankly, we enjoyed some games while others are just making my brain itchy. We are successful in playing together in some games.

Tested working with Local-Play:
- Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (using US .cia)
- New Super Mario Bros. 2 Gold Edition (using US .cia)

Not working and we can't see each other in lobby:
- Mario Kart 7 [Updated to 1.1] (used US .cia, then EU .cia, and then we also tried US and EU .cia on respective 2DS and 3DS)
- Mario Tennis (we used US .cia and EU .cia)

Is there a way we can play local-play together without these restrictions of such? I mean, we can play on SSFIV and New SMB2 but others, we just can't. Please help again :(

If you are using games on the same region, updated to the latest, there shouldn't be a problem. My MK7 works fine with other EU cias on EU consoles.

I tried installing EU Mario Kart 7 on my US 2DS and EU 3DS. The 3DS went to create a room (Create a Group) for local play while the 2DS waits at the lobby. But it's been past 5 minutes after creating and there wasn't any room to join in. I tried creating a room in the US 2DS (still using the EU Mario Kart 7) but it gives me Communication Error.

I also tried to flip the method by installing US Mario Kart 7 on both 2DS and 3DS. But this time, the US 2DS will create a room. Same results, sir. After 5 minutes or so, there wasn't any room available for the EU 3DS to join in. Again, I tried creating a room in the 3DS but it also gives me a "Communication Error" and gets me back at the main menu.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Both 3DS and 2DS are of the same emuNAND version as well as the Mario Kart 7 having been updated to 1.1

I think the problem is that one console is Eu and one is US. Sorry I missed that before. I think local play doesn't work when the game and console are different regions (when I tried local play with Triforce heroes, US on Eu console, it had an error before I even got the chance to see what teams were open to join). But if the games aren't the same region it also won't work. I'm not 100% sure on that though, so if someone says differently feel free to believe them and try their suggestions!!

Edit: have you tried online play as well as local/download play?

I see. So it wont work that way if US and EU versions of either game or 3DS (in my case, 3DS and 2DS). I've tried Online Play but IDK, I seem to always get kicked from the Online Play when searching for a match. I might try the Create a Community whatchamacallit and see if we can do online play.

Perhaps you could perform a region change on your EU 3DS. I believe it's as simple as installing the other region's Cias and injecting a US Secure_Info A

Ok so, we tried Online play on Mario Kart. We did the Community thing (but it's only 1 VS 1) so we decided to join other games (Worldwide) and luckily, we were able to play a 6 player Kart Game. I'd like to share my experience and it was awesome. No lag much (there's a very little bit of delay upon hitting someone with a shell but no problem at all). And it was a disaster with 6 players duking it out. The race was raining with Lightning, Shells, Spiny Blue Shell, Stars and even that Lucky 7.

Uhurm, anyway. Enough with that. Since we can actually see each other via Online, I think that will do for now. As for Mario Tennis, I have come across a .cia file of it with Region-Free patch. Is that gonna be enough for the 2DS and 3DS to be able to local-play?
