Well, i already downgraded three o3ds , but this is the first time i will do the oposite, and to be honest i'm more scared now than when i needed to downgrade.

I will receive one o3ds with sysNAND < 9.2 and i want to install rxTools and "do the cooldboot stuff " to start on emuNAND, so i need the 9.2FW.

I read some topics and tutorials, and already asked some questions, but as i say, i'm a bit (a lot) scared to do this.
So i need "a recap". If i get it right, this is what i need to do and the the order i need to do:

1 - Install emuNAND (can do this with gateway)
2 - Install rxTools
3 - Install sysUpdater .cia in sysNAND (Can i do this with gateway sysnand mode? using fbi.3dsx)
4 - Run rxTools DevMode to use sysUpdater
5 - Update the sysNAND to 9.2 using sysUpdater (ofcourse, after i placed the .cia files in updates folder)

Thats right? Did i forgot something or i'm wrong in any step?

That is the tutorial i will be following:

Thanks!

I would update first, it just seems more logical to me. That's how I've done it. You don't even need to have rxTools properly set up since dev mode doesn't require firmware.bin. It's more noob proof that way too since there is no way to boot rxMode without the firmware.bin. Updating first makes things easier since *hax only works on 9.0+
You can install sysupdater.cia in gateway sysNAND mode, but do NOT run it. It must only be run from rxTools Pasta Mode/Dev Mode. If you're installing it in Gateway Mode it makes more sense to run FBI.3ds or BigBlueMenu.3ds to install. No need for homebrew launcher (which wouldn't work below 9.0 anyway)

Eh, I wouldn't use Gateway anymore... There are better tools on the site that can do this and more. Other than that, sysUpdater first, then you should be good. Warnings the same from the posts above.
he also asked about gateway sysnand he is not simply using gateways launcher.dat . . . he has a gateway card as well

Yeah, it seems more pratical to me, using gateway mode in sysNAND to install sysupdater with FBI.3ds, but i wasn't sure this would work.

How i run rxTools DeMode without install rxtools? I had no idea that it was possible

Thanks!

I just think that installing emuNAND with Gateway more simple, and using Gateway Mode in sysNAND to install sysUpdater.cia with FBI.3ds seems more simple too, but.. this is not recommended?

And what do you mean with "sysUpdater first"?

Thanks!

All you need to run dev mode/pasta mode is the rxTools files themselves, firmware.bin, slot0x25keyX.bin aren't needed.
I did use Gateway sysNAND to install the sysupdater.cia on one 3DS and I generally use my Gateway whenever i hack a 3DS just to install a title manager CIA to emuNAND, it's a lot easier than dealing with FBI injection etc.

I was just referring to @The Real Jdbye's post, what's what I meant. Anyway, if you want to use GW, that's fine. I don't have control over what you do.

Don't get me wrong man, any advice is welcome.

It's only that i don't have experience in "hacking 3ds", and Gateway helped me alot already with the other three 3ds that i needed to install emuNAND, FBI, etc.

Thanks!

Um, I think i got it now
.
And it's a lot less scary know that i can use Gateway , because the FBI injection really seems more hard.
