Hacking DLC fighters in SSB4 3ds

I am surprised that I had to make an account to ask this rather than being able to find it in google! But here we go.

-Can you download Super Smash Bros 3ds dlcs as a cia (or similar format) and install them?

-Will it work online?

-And if posible, can you aply the DLC to your retail version in classic emunand or you need a 3dz/cia version for gateway mode?

I currently have a gateway (current ver 3.2.2 on 9.8 emunand)

You might just be bad at searching for things. It'll be easier to look for the .cias you want and see if its working for other people (it is).

Yes, it is available as cia. Yes it works online.

Afaik, cias dont work in classic mode. You'll need a 3dz or cia copy of the game

You can use dlcs with retails carts with rxtools though.

You can also buy one cheap dlc of smash bros, extract ticket.db with xorpads and download a patched dlc cia pack with FunkyCia to get all DLCs for the price of one. I bought everything though, because I wanted to support the development of new characters.

Might be worth noting too, that you NEED to be on the latest update to play online (or for the newest dlc to even work at all).

Or you can feel glad that you weren't ripped off for some microtransaction... I suppose it really depends on how you look at it. In the case of smash brothers in particular, the dlcs are fairly expensive for what you actually get.

Easy.

1. Deny Nintendo the money they deserve by pirating your DLC in .cia format.
2. Boot rxTools
3. Using your preferred.cia manager install the DLC
4. Insert retail cartridge
5. Play game

this. also what new development? Sakurai is done developing Kamui and Bayonetta and they will be released this week. and they are the final characters so it's not like supporting it will support new development as there are none after this.
