So I have a couple of questions about updating my EmuNAND.

First of all, to update my EmuNAND, do I just accept Nintendo's offer to update my 3DS while running EmuNAND (I find that unlikely but... IDK)? Or is there some more complicated process? Maybe involving sysUpdater? I really don't know.

The other question: people have told me that I should unlink my NANDs before I do this. I wasn't sure whether or not I did this (my friend led me through a lot of the process). I read that the way you check whether or not your NANDs are unlinked, was that you installed a CIA on the sysNAND, and you checked if it existed on the emuNAND. I tried that, but my sysNAND won't even open FBI. I'm guessing that that means they're unlinked, but I don't really know. Is there another way to check whether or not they're linked?

Thanks.

If you see the same home menu on both you sys and emunand then thats linked. You can't launch sysnand due to signature checks, you'd need to launch Pasta or something. As far as updating emunand, yes you can just update via update request, how I've always done it.

So if I can't see any of my .CIA games on sysNAND that's unlinked?

You can't launch sysnand due to signature checks, you'd need to launch Pasta or something.
As in that's why I can't launch FBI on sysNAND?

I'll still be able to run all of my .CIA's and everything will still work?

Thanks!

One way to check is to change your home menu view, reduce or increase row count, then boot emunand. If they look different, unlinked.
Yes, since sysnand doesn't have an exploit to remove signature checks. This is what rxtools or PastaCFW is for.
Yep. Since they will be patched.

What entry point do you use?

Ok, I guess my NANDS aren't linked (yay). I use menuhax, but I also have access to ironhax and browser hax, incase menuhax doesn't work when I update. I haven't had a prompt appear yet, so i haven't been able to update yet.

I have a New3DS running 9.2U SysNAND and 9.2 EmuNAND with ReiNAND, if I use the basic update system while in EmuNAND, would it keep the games on my EmuNAND HomeMenu?
And would I only be able to update them if I installed updated .cia files to play online?

You can update via the sys menu. as long as it says "RX" or "Rei" or something like that in the system version. otherwise I wouldn't.

Yes. Thats how I update. Just make sure the version says "Rei" in system version.

For the fact that he is still questioning whether the NANDs are linked or not, isn't updating from these pop-ups dangerous, even from emunand? With linked NANDs, I thought only updating from the Settings in emunand was safe.

that why i said only do it if it says something like "rei" or "rx" in their version while in the sys menu. My original setup was linked, didnt affect anything. All linked nand means is they have the same id or keys.
