Bricked my console about a week ago, got a replacement from Nintendo and everything but It got me thinking.. Is anyone looking into how nintendo manages to boot a system that has been bricked or semi-bricked to restore the system? or how they are testing/looking for homebrew etc. I saw on wiiubrew a list of the iosu modules and there is a recovery mode listed so was just worrying how much if any, progress is done looking into how to boot this mode or howto get into test mode etc.. with the iosu exploit help us figure this stuff out?

boot0 supports loading a recovery image from an SD card, but this is certainly private to Nintendo's repair centers.

I see, thanks for the reply.. I wonder what are the chances we'll ever figure out how they are doing this? The community would benefit from this greatly.
I assume the recovery image needs to be signed but is that an issue now?

It does need to be signed, so making our own is unlikely. It's completely unknown how Nintendo's own image works.

We could try getting an image of such a card if someone works for a Nintendo repair center and is "very very very nice" ;P

But that's probably really unlikely.
