Hacking Downgrade sysNAND web browser

Was fun . All those guys who were crying that downgrading is unsafe. Did it 4 times, not a single one is brick.

Most bricks are caused by shutting down the system during downgrading (scared people) or using New3DS firmware on O3DS, using a bad entrypoint...

We were video calling and I told him what to do. I literally saw how sysUpdater only had to install 1 CIA file, the spider he got provided with. It worked and he injected QR codes!

Not true, actually. The O3DS browser and N3DS browser have different TitleIDs and the system menu for each system calls the appropriate browser. So no, simply installing it would do nothing.

We weren't saying install the o3ds browser on the n3ds we were talking about downgrading the browser, so as Iong as you have the correct CIA, it's possible, which is what I meant

Nope, it's always been the case that sysupdater will check what CIAs you have and which need to be installed, uninstall the matching title and install the new title (that's in downgrade mode, in upgrade it skips uninstalling the title)

So.... If someone were really good at hacking, they could recreate the 3ds's homemenu and also get rid of 10.4's IronFall block

10.4 doesn't have access to sysUpdater so we'll be locked out for things like that for a while.

I mean if someone makes Memchunkhax3 but on lower versions, would someone still be able to recreate the home menu?

Could be. I don't think that downgrading should be our focus point though. Smealum will probably provide with a new set of tools to create a new CFW for 9.2-10.4+.

Iirc ironfall's TID (titleID) is hardcoded into NATIVE_FIRM, so you'd have to be able to run a CFW to run it... Also about the home menu, it's signed and anything unsigned won't run unless CFW happens (or in emuNAND but that's as easy as just running 10.2 NATIVE_FIRM)
