Homebrew [WIP] SafeSysUpdater

Hmm is it possible to use two different payloads for the homebrew entry points? If thats possible then you could possibly install 10.4 menuhax payloads and then downgrade using ironhax. If there's a problem during the downgrade then you would still have homebrew access if you were forced to update, wouldnt you?

I'd like to report another success story. Never originally intended to downgrade/set up a CFW, I decided to give it a try after they fixed Ironhax in 10.4.

While nerve wracking, I successfully downgraded my 10.3.0-28U N3DS XL to 9.2.0-20U on my first try.

Did you just use the zip at the first page? Cause on the most tutorials it says that there should be 2 files, I'm confused?

i bricked a o3ds because the ds crashed in the middle of a downgrade (now i get a blackscreen whe i turn it on) recoverymode dont work

Success: 9.6.0-24E > 9.2.0-20E on n3DS.
It didn't automatically reboot, but other than that, worked perfectly.

Does the Gateway work on a downgraded system?

If you're downgrading your sysnand, use the first attachment(3dsx). OP only provides the .cia for Emunand downgrading(testing purposes).

For the folder structure, extract the file(just 1 file which is named SafeSysUpdater.3dsx) and make sure It's inside the 3DS folder and SafeSysUpdater folder, see structure below:

SD card root:\3ds\SafeSysUpdater\SafeSysUpdater.3dsx

I think it's case sensitive so just make sure the folder name has the same case as the file.

Hey some people don't, some people did. As for me, I don't have anything major to lose on both of my console so I did format both the system and SD card, o3DSXL first try works, o3DS second try.

Pff I'm really stupid, I made the folder like this: root:\3ds\SysUpdater\SafeSysUpdater.3dsx and he didn't find the safesysupdater in HBL.
And yeah, just downgrading first from 10.3E to 9.2E with the N3DS. After that I'll follow the guide that is around here for setting up emunand (backup), reinand etc

Hopefully it will work the first time.

edit2: alright, needed to reboot it myself. It's now on 9.2.20E! Does this means it's okay now?

Btw do I need to format my card now? I have a 8gb that I used to downgrade, but plan on getting a 32 before I do anything further.

And how do I know if it is a good downgrade like full downgrade? I read somewhere that some people didn't have a proper downgrade but it still said 9.2

Just downgraded my o3DS which was 10.3.0.28U using this.

I got the hax to work after 3 tries.

I'm now at 9.2

No I didn't do anything formatting/clearing of files, the only thing I did was change the theme back to a default unedited one beforehand, as I had themehax installed. Everything seems to work.

Oh wait, yes, it seems 10.2.X is not compatible...
Just checked the github page.

Hmm, dunno then. Other than keep trying.

Though if you can use another *hax, I recommend using that instead, as I don't put much faith in the browser.

You can format your SD, just make sure its FAT32. And for the downgrade checker, please click here

Not really, you can go ahead and downgrade without formatting it. I think it's just personal preference if you want to format it or not. There are people who successfully downgrade their 3DS with both method (formatting and not formatting).
