SOLVED!

Use Braindump to dump a CXI file (AVAILABLE HERE) and then use "PackHack" (not sure if I'm allowed to link this here, I used Version 4.5) and the "Hacking Tool.exe" to unpack the CXI file.

Thanks a ton to everyone in here!

Old question:
Hello there,

So after about 1-2 hours of googling, trying various things, tools, programs, "hacks" and so on I came to the conclusion that, as someone who has never done 3DS extracting before, it's simply too complicated to understand what is needed to extract a simple music track from a .CIA file...

First of all I found a tool called "ctrtool" which, as many suggested on the stuff I found, can extract partitions (if that's correct) from a CIA file. Well, that's where I was basically stuck then, I got the RomFS file out of the CIA (at least) and then tried to extract it, however when I try this it simply says that "Error, program id mismatch. Wrong key?" and I honestly have no idea what this means.

Then again I'm far "too noobish" to understand how CIAs are built up or how 3DS ROMs work in general, they seem to differ a hell lot from the good old .NDS ones.

Anyways, can someone explain on what I have to do to get music (or even other files) out of a .CIA file? And, most importantly, how to check if it's encrypted or not? Many say they aren't, however a few say they are which confuses me now... I was able to install the CIA on my N3DS EmuNAND perfectly fine so I guess it's not encrypted?

Thanks already for your time!

PS.: Before someone asks no this is not "for piracy". I played a game, enjoyed the music and now want to enjoy it outside of the game too. The only ones I found are "shitty" recorded ones which have the text and figure sounds in them still which is annoying.

youtube to mp3 is your friend.
Ew no... Those are mostly shitty audio-jack rips which I fully hate, plus YouTube converts the audio heavily down...

Lol...
Extract musics from your game take what... 10mns and you have the best quality...
Only if you happen to find decrypted CIAs. I'm using braindump now trying to get a decrypted RomFS.
I did try the CIA I had already with which I originally installed the game BUT it didn't work, the extractor told me it'd not be a valid RomFS binary...
