I read a downgrade guide and one step mentioned that I would need to remove tubehax DNS if I had ever used it. I couldn't change it back to all zeros in the DNS settings so I went ahead and deleted the connection settings and set up a new connection. Is it safe for me to downgrade now?

Should be. Yes. You should still make use of a connection tho, just in case you soft brick.

I do have an internet connection set up. I just deleted it and made a new one to get rid of the tubehax DNS. It's currently set to auto-obtain DNS.

My avatar is Azura from Fire Emblem btw

For future reference, you don't need to zero out the DNS to remove Tubehax. Simply set auto-obtain back to YES. As a bonus it will remember the Tubehax DNS so you don't have to type it again next time you want to enable it.

So I'm good to go?
