So I've played about halfway through Ocarina of Time on my O3DS using gateway and never noticed any framerate issues.

I downgraded my hyrule N3DS the other day and have rxtools cfw setup, installed ocarina of time, transferred my save, etc.

I didn't use 3D on O3DS because it sucked, but on N3DS I almost never turn it off now. I'm in the Zora's ice cave and notice significant slow down (like slow motion) when lots of stuff is going on. I am assuming this is caused by 3D having to render twice as much. I have tried turning off 3D when this happens and I feel like it fixes the framerate but am not certain.

Is there a possibility that there is lag due to using cfw or is that ridiculous? Has anyone else experienced this? Am I just new to 3D and this happens often?

Your problem may be from a slow Micro SD card. EmuNAND is read from the SD card and so are the games so if you have a Micro SD with slow read speed, it will lag quite a bit.

Can't say I've noticed any slow down with rxTools and I've played MH4U a game I've put countless hours into before setting up CFW and it even takes advantage of the N3DS for textures and such.

I almost want to suggest looking into BootNTR and grabbing the N3DS Clock Speed plugin to force OoT to take advantage of the N3DS CPU but I don't know how that would turn out, I believe OoT is very much tied to the frame rate? I know 60 FPS "patches" on emulators for the N64 version? maybe the GC, either way some version of the game it was causing major hassle.

I forget, I never played OoT and when I looked into emulating it was running at 15 FPS which put me off, thought I'd just wait to play the 3DS version since that should at least run at 30? need to try it out one of these days.

Sound in OOT gets screwed up by forcing N3DS Clockspeed in HANS. I don't know whether NTR would cause the same issue.

It shouldn't. HANS has compatibility issues whether you change the clock speed or not, NTR-CFW works more natively for lack of a better word, so it doesn't share those issues.

the game is like that, i've played it in 2011 when it launched in O3DS and in that particular place, and when many particles are on screen, with 3D on, it screws with the framerate, is has nothing t o do with CFW, maybe you didnt notice it the first time because you didn´t had 3D on.

well, that´s ,y grain of salt, hope you fin it useful. :yay3ds:
