Hacking [Tutorial] How to update Emunand on a N3DS

O3DS 10.3.0-28
N3DS 9.5.0-23

Including JAP N3DS too? for some reason i always stuck on 0CA00.cia file when updating emunand with sysupdater.

Other user who downgraded N3DS from 10.3 with [US/EUR] firmware have no problem updating emunand to 9.5,
but i have yet found one with JAP N3ds who got it working.

Can you help me with that? Thanks

I've gotten it to work - you should take out that particular CIA from the update folder before you update. If you get a black screen when booting emunand because of that, see earlier posts in the thread.

I have deleted that CIA from update folder, but somehow the sysupdater is searching for that CIA, and it always returns an error that it is missing/ not in update folder.

Total files on update folder are 104 files right?

I think so (can't confirm right away as I'm not on that computer right now). You are doing this from a fresh emunand, not retrying from one that has already failed to update from the CIA, right? Once you hit that error, sysUpdater won't go any further - relaunching and trying it again will always give you that error.

I just updated my Emunand to 9.5 and it was a breeze, You have to install sysupdater cia on emunand then run sysupdater from emunand and update. Just make sure your in emunand or you could brick it. What i did was i changed my theme to a different color in emunand so i know what im running.

I don't have a sysupdater .cia, just .smdh and .3dsx

The sysupdater linked in the OP doesn't work for me, can't unzip it.

Get "unknown method in sysupdater.cia" when trying to extract sysupdater.cia from the archive

I dont use rxTools for Emunand I use a Gateway card and at the time the launcher did not show GW3D

Side notes -

It would appear some users are having trouble extracting files from archives on windows natively, if you run into these issues install 1 of these 4 programs to extract the files you need WinRAR x86 (32 bit) / WinRAR x64 (64 bit) / 7-Zip 32-bit x86 / 7-Zip 64-bit x64

I do have Winrar, worked fine for all the other many many zips I grabbed during the process of all this.. but I'll try with 7zip

It means don't run it in Gateway/rx Sysnand mode, Emunand is fine.

Nevermind me, somehow ejecting and putting the sd card back in made it work. Who knows, just happy it's installing now.

Only one question: How do I make sure I'll never get any update nags or the system will never try to update during sleep etc. in emunand?

Doesnt worked for me on n3ds with downgrade just brick black screen.
