Tutorial Simple Guide to Downgrading your 3DS

Just tried to downgrade a O3DSXL on 10.1 AND 10.3 and got title exception: main.cpp:100: result 0xc9e08001 failed to get cia file info. Also settings app disappeared had to go into recovery mode to fix settings app.
I tried with ninjax,ironhax,and homemenuhax all same results. I did notice when installing homemenuhax there was an error unable to write a file don't know if that's relevant or not.

successfully downgraded o3DS 10.3.0-28J to 9.2.0-20J.

used browserhax first, but no luck making sysupdater work. installed themehax using browserhax, browserhax successfully launched sysupdater.

sysupdater froze at restarting prompt, just did a hard reboot and viola!

@TheStoneBanana OP can you put up a warning recommending new3DS owners to exercise caution and perhaps wait a couple days before attempting to downgrade.

It's starting to look like we're getting more bricks than successful downgrades.

Devs like @Steveice10 are working hard on new sysupdater builds to eliminate the risk of bricking.

So new3DS users please hold off for a day or so while the tools are made safer.

Even if Nintendo release 10.4 tomorrow you'll still be able to downgrade if you stay on 10.3. So there's no urgency to downgrade right now.

Does it apply to Old 3ds users? i want to downgrade but i'm scared do you think they'll make a safer method for old (and new too) soon? As i said, i'm old, but i'm scared :C

You mean the cias you put in the updater folder? Yes. But AFAIK the sysupdater app is the same for anything.

I don't believe so, since Ironfall requires 9.5 (or at least some version beyond 9.2). Basically you can't install Ironfall on 9.2.

I went careful with all the steps and I happily downgraded my 2ds eur in 10.3. Time to install everything!

I don't believe so, since Ironfall requires 9.5 (or at least some version beyond 9.2). Basically you can't install Ironfall on 9.2.
