So i was peacefully beeing a happy o3ds XL in 10.1 user playing Smash and other games in two Sd cards:

*The frist SD card is a Toshiba SDHC 4GB // this one came with my 3ds Xl And holds Valuable Data including my Saves from Fire Emblem and Smash, i was never able to Install an Entry point on this Sd due to Browserhax and YT hax beeing patched.

*While the second is Verbatim SDHC premium 4GB // this card had Ironfall 1.0 Pre-antiHBLpatch (the one version that runs HBL) and some Non important games, nothing valuable but it is my only console with Ironfall and an actual stable entrypoint(ironfall) and it has some Demos and Games (6 Counting IronFall)

everything was fine until yesterday, when, Ironhax Flatout didn't launch me to HBL (on my second SD, the Verbatim one), i Decided to get Homebrew on my Frist SD card, so i tried to load The camera with R+L, it did not load, strange, so i went to the 3ds Camera app, Black screen, i started to flip the f*ck so i Updated to 10.3 (bad idea) then Used Browserhax to Get me Homebrew, it worked and i was able to Install menuhax, but when i poped my Sd into my SD-to-USB Converter.....

The 3ds folder was flatout invalid for Windows. Scare +1. DCIM folder was a Formateless file. Scare+10.
In a Desesperated atempt i Made a backup of my Nintendo 3ds Folder, it took an Hour, which at least Confirmed me the SD wasn't Completely F*cked up to the non-Return point. "at least i still have my other SD, lets take a look at i-..." and i poped the Verbatim SD to the converter... to see This :

ripSDcard.png

i fliped the fuck out, Tried to copy the Nintendo3ds Folder (which was fucked up too, Almost not matching the size it should have (28MB with ironFall and 4 demos with Pokemon Rumble World?!? bullshit!) and Afterthat i Directly came here, made an account.

and that sums the Problem. I have no Idea how This happened, the 3ds Ignores the Data in the SD cards for obvious reasons (at least on the verbatim, to the Time of writing the Toshiba Sd is still readed by the 3DS) and im pretty Scared since THose cards are the only ones i have and i don't own another 3ds console. is there any way to Restore the Sd cards or im screwd over and will need to get a new SD card?

it is alredy very strange that Both Sd cards Screw over after i update my Firmware (if this helps, i Accidentaly Took my Sd out whiel the console was On in the Home Menu some weeks before this dreadful event)

thanks In advance for Caring to Read this Wall of text and Posting a reply, either to help me, or not, im not myself a native english speaker and i kinda Write way too fast with many Errors, so excuse me if i commit any Grammar or Writting error i nthis or any future post.

sounds like corrupt SD's the 3DS is known to corrupt sd's if you leave them in standby a long time ingames.

My friend got it on his N3DS 4gb card and you have an O3DS so how long have you been doing it for also im pretty sure the vertabim 4gb your on about is the old type what speed rating is it Class 6? looks like this (6) on card.

Best option is just to get a New Card for the both my advice is a Samsung, flash memory types in SD cards have changed so they have way longer life now comapred to older cards

I leave games in standby overnight very often and never had any SD corruption problem

Did you check the SD for errors in the file system? (using windows explorer).

Corrrect The toshiba is Class 4 and the verbatim Class 6, should have added in the Post, but i saw in The Sd foundation Page that it only Affects its Write/read Speed, so i excluded it

thats pretty much What the Two SDs did, The Toshiba transofrmed a Folder into a file and the Verbatim Deleted the 3ds Folder somehow, both poped the Windwos Restore Utility thing (the unit has corrupted Sectors, wanna restore them?), so it is bad, i also used to leave the 3ds overnight, but i forgot that Habit lately as i Really wanted to have the 3ds with full battery when i played Majoras Mask .3.

New question:

is there anyway i can Restore them or just Full format them and Restore the Nintnedo 3ds Folder a new? or do i just get a new SD and dig the Tomb for the other Two

honest answer they have dug their own grave, for the price of SD/MicroSD cards now you can get a 32gb solid brand with good speeds for about 12dollar £8/10Euro they really cheap these days.

Can try to restore them sectors but cards hit its last legs

Remeber im not in your country nor any country with decent prices on SD cards, an 6GB mSD is around $80ARS here, yup, i guess i will search for some cheap SD/mSD cards and a decent adapter for the later, i don't know what i will do about having two separate N.3DS folders, thanks for the help anyways.

Well I just bought a 64GB SD card to use exclusively on the 3DS.

Micro SD adapters aren't always reliable. If you get a bad contact you might lose data.

The thing is that stuff is VERY Expensive here, isaw a Class 10 32 GB at $527 here , so losing TWO Sd Cards is something i can't really affrod, I have this old mSD-to-SD adapter here and it never really failed,

but luck isn't in my side this year it seems haha.

EDIT: i reformatted the Verbatim following the Nintendo guide (i belive in their official FAQ) in hopes of beeing able of restoring it, i will do Browserhax, install Menuhax and Give it a second Try, Give me luck.
