Is there a way to play Xenoblade Chronicles X on 5.4.0 or do I need to update to 5.5.0 like the game tells me to?

Wait until the exploit drops, if it caters more to 5.5 than 5.4 then maybe update to 5.5 then do the exploit
5.4 and 5.5 seem both safe but 5.4 is safer

It was probably AboodXD that you listened to back then, too. He/she clearly doesn't present intelligent, unbiased information but rather opinions based on his/her limited knowledge and exact system setup.

MN1 and NWPlayer123 only ever said 5.4.0 was exploitable. They didn't tell anyone to update their console from 5.3.2.

In the end, you are the one pressing buttons on the controller, making decisions based on what time you've invested to read. Take the advice of the trusted members here, and wait patiently on whatever FW you are currently on until you see a new post from Hykem.

You don't need the kernel exploit to run the update remover. Give it a shot (I've heard some say they needed to run it multiple times). Still no userland on 5.4.0.

Well, that makes sense. Ironically, you could run it from 5.5.0 then since there is a userland exploit but no kernel exploit.

Anyway, back to topic, I was just thinking that there's no reason to stay on 5.4.0, only if IOSU was not flexible enough, sure you can update if you want.... Just ignore what I said.

There's apparently a private 5.4.0 userland exploit and a private 5.5.0 userland and kernel exploit (hence how MrRean has ported Loadiine to 5.5.0).

I'm confused, were you the whole time talking about private exploits ? because in that case the private userland exploit works both on 5.4.0 and 5.5.0

Yeah I realized that in hindsight. I first (stupidly) didn't realize you needed the userland exploit to run the update remover, and then I was just being hypothetical
