Hey,

I just bought a WiiU with 5.4.0 on it. I have the chance to buy one with 5.3.2 but it will cost 40€ more than the current one. I can wait a few weeks on the exploit, so my question: Should I buy the one with 5.3.2 or just wait?

Nope, infact you might as well update to the latest firmware, the new IOSU exploit will cover firmwares from 2.00 to 5.5.0 and this exploit will come in like 1 week.

(and in the case of Boot0, it is infinitesimal, since this is a rom area, the code is made as short as possible and as secure as possible, since there is absolutely no way to change it on the current userbase)

boot0 is actually relatively huge now, given it's absorbed the wii boot1 and they've added features for recovery from SD to it (and thus a trimmed down, no fs support, sd driver).

As for OTP dumping, boot0 disables the boot1 bank of the Starbuck OTP right after using that key to decrypt boot1's ticket. This is well before boot0 is over, unlike previous N consoles where they let the next-stage bootloader disable its own keys. Because of that, basically the only way to get around this would be to pull off some side channel attack like clock glitching or dropping voltage at the right time. Any fault injection hax require a tremendous amount of work, so it's doubtful this stuff will reach the public any time soon.

Wait if I play online and modify a few things for the character's look(Like in Splatoon using TCP Gecko to make the inkling to look like a octoling) i will probably get banned, but what exactly does banned mean? Like does it mean you will NEVER play again on Splatoon servers, or NEVER play Online again or is it like a 3 chances thing.

So say i give my guy in Xenoblade Chronicles X more miranium and i play online will it like notify Nintendo and they will ban me or is it just if people notice abnormal things when i play online (like flying ,speed hacks - even though its not possible)

WWJD? Ban you.

Idk if they have code detection for cheating, but you can be sure they review incidents where people get reported and they will ban you if it looks like you're cheating. It's one thing to change a texture, but it's different to give yourself an unfair advantage against others.

last we heard he had working iosu up to 5.3.2 but he was making the bowser exploit that launches iosu for 5.4.0 and 5.5.0 so im guessing those 2 versions are giving him more work.

People want the same hack from WII to WIIU.
IOSU it is enough and Emunand safe and better for devs and us , if you want a permanent exploit/hack you want a bricked console.

I'm starting to think... The last Wii U update was sometime in august or so... It might be worthwhile for them to hold unto the exploit until the next patch comes.
