I should stay in 5.4 right ? because there is a kernel exploit in this firmware but no userland exploit ?

You need a key, and at the moment nobody is able to access that key besides maybe Hykem, you'll need to dump it from a console with Cafiine or the Add-on content API and pyGecko

Once Hykem releases his exploit ? my guestimate would be 3-5 days after that

It might even be the same day.
If it is compatible,The browser should be able to be downgrade by deleting 5.5 and installing 5.4(or even 5.3.2). Even the hacky way of blocking updates should be able to be undone. The bigger questions are how many titles can be "rolled back" and how far can they be rolled back before things break horribly bad.

So, my intention to release something exactly on Christmas is clearly not going to happen. I already knew it would be quite a stretch to get all the relevant stuff done by tomorrow, whence the warning that it was merely an intention.
Still, I'm steadily working on all that's necessary for a proper release and I will be spending the first month of the next year doing maintenance and giving support related to the exploit.
By the way, this doesn't mean it won't happen at all, I'm just giving an heads up so no one gets their hopes high for a Christmas eve release. Next week or so is a more plausible release date.

If someday there's a way to downgrade or do something risky like that I would wait like 4-6 days to do it just to check if it's safe, I totally respect the developers of the Scene but I prefer being safety with this things.
I recomend to everybody never do things when they just come out because sometimes you didn't take your time to study the steps or maybe it's just not really safe.

I never had any console, phone, PC or anything like that Bricked, it's just a recommendation, take it or leave it.

Reminds me of when I installed a weird IOS on my Wii that bricked the homebrew channel.
I was able to fix it by reinstalling the homebrew channel.
