Hacking TubeHax Tutorial?

I saw that thread where the OpenDNS user updated his Wii U. I want to make the change from OpenDNS to Tube Hax. However, I can't access my routers settings.

Can someone tell me how to use Tube Hax?

same here, I am going to swap opendns with tubehax, I think you should go to internet options and then input those dns and you are set up.
Primary DNS: 107.211.140.065 (TubeHax DNS)
Secondary DNS: 107.211.140.065 (TubeHax DNS)

1. Go to Wii U Menu/System Settings/Internet/Connect to the Internet

2. Input your router's SSID and password (typically WPA2-PSK AES)
3. Input settings as follows:

IP Address: Auto-obtain
DNS: Don't Auto-obtain

Primary DNS: 107.211.140.065 (TubeHax DNS)

Note: This will leave you unable to access YouTube​

Secondary DNS: 198.91.88.237 (nallar's DNS)

Note: nallar's DNS will change in January 2016

To check if the blocking works, use this website.

To check if TubeHax DNS is properly blocking the URLs:
Domain: <copy/paste one of the URLs>
Server: 107.211.140.065
Query: A (IPv4 address)

To check if nallar's DNS is properly blocking the URLs:
Domain: <copy/paste one of the URLs>
Server: 198.91.88.237
Query: A (IPv4 address)

If you get something like the following, you know it's working (127.0.0.1 is a loopback address to your computer):4

nallar's DNS blocks a couple extra URLs that TubeHax DNS doesn't. And if TubeHax DNS ever fails, it would kick in as a nice backup. nallar told me he/she is changing servers in January, so the DNS address will change too. It's just a heads up.

ok, I already set up tubehax and nallar's dns, I will looking forward in january for any nallar's update in his\her dns server, so many people complain about opendns because of the dynamic ip, I hope I can keep away my wii U from 5.5 XD, my router is an old motorola which is unable to block url :S

I was thinking about making the move to Tubehax but tbh OpenDNS has so far done an excellent job for me. I would say the member that had the update go through was probably his fault, maybe it was incorrectly setup, if it was all setup right than I doubt it would of updated! My question about Tubehax is how safe is it nowadays??? and now the people that run the YouTube channels on consoles/handhelds can now update without your knowledge, is it such a great idea too use as a url block?

Edit: actually just to be 100% sure I always take the power lead out the back of my wiiu when I'm not using it, at least if something does go wrong without my knowledge, then the wiiu won't.

The point is mostly that you must rely on their little app to always be running and keep your IP address up to date. I'd imagine there are some (how many idk) who've gotten updated who would of said the same thing as you a week ago, that opendns is doing an excellent job at blocking them..

If for some reason that little program would fail to update your IP address in a somewhat timely fashion though, more so if you use your Wii U a lot, you're more likely going to get updated. It could be the app hanging in the background and no longer responding, which you wouldn't know unless you checked or tried to open the gui. Someone else uses the computer and closes the app. There are a number of reasons how it can happen with a perfectly functioning opendns setup.

I think not using tubehax means you deserve anything coming your way. It causes no issues with online play or shop usage, meaning it's a free layer of protection. Not using it is the summit of stupidity, imo. But each their own.

Sorry for necroing this thread, but I just changed from OpenDNS to Tubehax and I was wondering, theres no red X on the download icon now. Is that ok? It seems to be blocking updates though...

So opendns plus standby off mode is sufficient?
I use youtube a lot on the wii u so that is why i havent switched to tubehax

Opendns is sneaky, thats why people prefer tubehax. Including me.

tubehax takes off acess for youtube but works perfectly all the time so yeah its a matter of choosing youtube or a secure and prooved method of blocking updates, so far not even 1 report of anyone using tubehax got updated, with opendns we had countless reports already.

You must update the game by downloading the update through NUS Grabber (on PC) and then installing through WUP Installer (on Wii U).

It is. Disable tubehax and update, then turn it back on. Youre on 5.5.0 anyway, right?

No problem. Just be sure to look around online before going to update a game in the future. Make sure no system menu updates are out, and you should be fine.
