Hardware Can't boot into the Windows 7 setup...

Hehe so I have second question
I formatted my one and only hard drive today of my desktop, and just burned a *cough* download version of Windows 7 and burned it, but everytime I start my pc with the instalation disc in it goes to this screen:

And if i choose to disable my HDD from the motherboard settings, and boot from CD it will not go through this screen regardless of pressing enter (picture: http://nl.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2qcfdhj&s=9)
Anybody with a fix? I'm kinda stuck now.

Have you gone into BIOS settings and set the dvd rom as first boot media?

Yep, no dice..

If you got access to another PC, you could make a bootable USB drive.

I think... that you just burned the ISO on the DVD, not to the DVD.

I actualy made the dvd with the windows 7 dvd tool from microsoft

Turn off UEFI booting for your optical drive in your bios.

Hmm, I burn every ISO I got with imgburn.
I trust it and it works.

Never used the DVD tool tbh.

Have you tried clearing your bios by removing the cmos battery for 5-10 seconds? It could also be that you just have a bad ISO. Search a torrent site for Windows 7 all in one ksm activated if you wish to have every Windows 7 available on a 3.6gb file.

I did what you said (create a bootable usb) and its working now !! Thanks for helping me out man !! I was in a real sweat haha

If the USB worked but not the DVD, it might be that your DVD drive is dying on you because it's not booting the content on the disc.

Could be, i'll look into it once my os has loaded, to check if it still reads discs

I'd say keep a USB drive with Windows on it in case you need to reinstall it again.
Away with optical media!

Doubt it if it burnt the disc in the first place. My guess is incorrect boot info, I've seen the MS dvd tool fail before :/

I once tried booting a DVD on our old desktop and it wouldn't boot it at all - it kept booting into Windows 7 instead. I then tried putting in a Windows Vista disc to see if it'd read - it didn't. However, it played an audio CD perfectly fine.

I'll agree, pc's can be mysterious things.
If it was back in the day when we used to plug the optical drives directly into the sound card/mobo it'd explain something.

Well, I tested some discs on my pc and they worked perfectly fine now that I'm in a OS.
Still weird though, since I installed Windows when I got my PC also on a CD
Oh well.

Official discs are always burnt correctly. Burning your own even with the ms dvd tool still requires user intervention in some cases, like creating boot info manually. I think trying to make x86 bootable usb on x64 windows still fails with the ms dvd tool, leaving you to make your own fat32 bootable usb (as the tool on x64 formats to ntfs by default and won't boot from an x64 bios).
