My brother and I both play on the 3ds on occasion, but starting today i ran into an issue. I wanted to play my Game, and it said Save data corruped. removing data. So i closed the game and restarted it, it said save data cannot be accesed, please reinsert your gamecard. i fully excited the 3ds and rebooted/ Save data corrupted still. I think the save data is still present. Anyway to restore it? (Gateway Emunand red card) Have acess to Savedatafiller

Also, CTR card is broken, which i guess is my save. I smashed the sd in my pc and made a copy of the save, incase it can be restored.

my 3dz save.
Have you or your brother mounted a .3DS instead of .3DZ before?
A mistake of executing .3DS instead of .3DZ (or the reverse) can crash the save.

BTW, to use Savedatafiler to export .3DX save, you should duplicate it and rename it into 000400000FF40A00.sav.

If you only ran one copy of Pokemon SMD (the .3dz one) then what MelonGx is saying won't help. Check to make sure you didn't accidentally add two copies of SMD to your SD (one .3ds and one .3dz). If you did, you can follow my guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...save-from-one-region-to-another-on-gw.381849/ to swap the saves between the two versions. Most likely, though, your save is gone for good.

Thats fucked up then... Any reasons why my save could of gotten corrupted? other games seem fine. All i know is that my brother played a game (fifa 15.3ds) and i think he left it open overnight (Game not 3ds) then that morning he had some kind of error that the gamecard had been removed.

Saves aren't automatically saved to the SD card. You need to close the game first (either by hitting home + X or shutting down the console) for it to transfer from the Gateway cart to the SD card. If the game or console crashes, the save doesn't transfer, and gets stuck on the cart. It is possible to prevent your save from being deleted after a crash, but you can't re-run a ROM before applying the method, or it's gone forever.

Yes but i played the game, closed it (Pressed home button and clicked close game) then my brother played another game. Shouldnt my game be properly saved by then?

No. What happens (to my knowledge) is that the Gateway cart doesn't have a save for each ROM, it just has one save. When FIFA crashed, the save for FIFA stayed on the cart instead of properly moving to the SD card. When you then tried to load your Pokemon SMD save, Gateway attempted to use the FIFA save instead, causing the errors you witnessed. FIFA's save is probably fine (but lost any progress during the most recent play).

Haven't known that until you posted this message.
Thanks for the info.
But I don't have GW right now so I cannot verify this theory myself.

Sounds like something wrong with your ROM or SD card then. I'm 20 hours in (after a bunch of loadings) and I've yet to experience a problem.

Odd, because I obtained my copy of SMD from "the" rom site and I'm having no problems whatsoever. I'd recommend trying another ROM (or a .cia) and see if that helps, and just in case, I'd delete your current SMD save off of your SD card. The titleid for US is x174600.
