Hello, I just bought a New 3DS today. It came as version 9.6.0-24U.

I take it this really limits my options for what I can do and use with the N3DS but given I know nothing could someone tell me what options I have available for Homebrew and Flash carts?

I would really like to play 3DS games but if it's just Sky 3DS then a cart for DS games would be fine. What I'd like to know is which cart is the best in terms of performance and compatibility. Ideally I want a cart that's like the DSTWO that can play GBA games as well. So which cart should I get? I genuinely can't tell given how many R4 carts there are out right now.

Also can I connect my New 3DS to my Wi-Fi or will that just get me to update the system? I'd like to do online things with it but not if it means I'll move even further up the firmware ladder.

what makes you think fe if needs special treatment to work on gw? just get the latest version of everything you can (latest launcher + highest possible emunandemunand of your model)...

download update pack of version you want from some iso site (you can also get sysupdater from the same sticky thread there). install n run the sysupdater on emunand.

So, for Browserhax I need a New 3DS with 10.2 or lower. I guess it should still be safe to just buy one?

And the regionFour site says Cubic Ninja is required for playing other region games, is that still the case here?

what is your current 3ds fw and model? if you're just going to buy one just do your best getting the 9.2 and below system.
depends on what you have, you may or may not need CN, but it's good to have.

so i found a 3DS XL on 4.5 for sale can i update it to 9.2 somehow without having a physical game that updates to 9.2?

or does 4.5 have rxtools emunand/themehax support too?

edit: nvm. the guy didn't put his location in correctly on the local sales website. i thought he lived 6km away. in reality he lives 160km away.

I lost my gateway card, i'm booting with GW Emunand with ReiNAND through ninjhax 2.5. Is it safe to go online right now? I want to play Triforce Heroes.
What are my options, I've heard of HANS but i cant boot it...

I have a Question regarding installing mset on my 9.2 firmware, now i have autoboot themehax 2.0 installed on my O3ds,but when i install mset 6.xx and downgrade it so that i can use ds profil exploit, i can see that NNID Feautures gone Missing?

Yes it has gone missing, that's the proof the downgrade was successful since those features weren't in 6.x system settings, they were added later through updates.

For 3DS games your only option is Sky3ds
For DS I suggest you to get a R4i Gold 3DS or a DSTWO (this one is more expensive but brings a built in GBA and SNES emulators), for homebrew you can use browserhax and use install Menuhax 2.0 (Hands down best existing entry point).

You can connect to the wifi, the updates only automatically pre-download if you put the system to sleep while connected to the internet, but even there they won't install automatically.

Guess I could just try looking for a 9.2.

Can anyone help me with running GBA cias?

I'm following Riku's tutorial at https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-agb_firm-signature-patcher-gba-rom-converter.390313/
, but I get an error when trying to install the patched cia to my NAND. When I try to go and delete it like Riku says, I can't find anything in the NAND with the title id "0x0004013800000202".

I've heard it's easier to use BBM instead of FBI, but I can't even find a way to install cias to the NAND in BBM.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, is there any way for me to be able to export a Gateway card1 save file without the use of a Gateway red card? I don't have mine with me at the moment, and I would like to transfer my FE:A save to CIA.

Not sure about the first question.

The second one, you will need the Gateway cart since it's a Gateway save.

You won't really gain much from installing it since you have Themehax installed. The only reason to install it would be if you want it as a backup or you want to use it to boot a different CFW.

Guys.... I'm on a journey to proper setup my emunand... Well... Right now, I have:

After power on my N3DS (v9.0.20 US sysnand)
menuhax loader
-> rxtools -> autoload emunand (RX-E9.0.20) or pressing L opens menu
-> PastaCFW (freezes)
-> Homebrewlauncher (works, but I think it do everything on sysnand)

on rxtools menu, If I try inject FBI over H&S I get an error about missing H&S info and I can't get TMD version too.

Searching around, I found https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-inject-any-app-into-health-safety-o3ds-n3ds-cfw-only.402236/ . I followed the tutorial (went to EmuNAND options, dumped my H&S.app, changed it to FBI and injected it again). Now the problem beggins.... D9 says it was everything allright, but when I launch emunand, the H&S app stills there. When I launch sysnand, the H&S icon disappears...

I think I missed something, that prevents D9 to inject FBI.app into emunand...
