I too received the notification from Amazon of delayed release! I think OP should be updated, here is the news: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...e_sky_soldier_release_pushed_back_to_november
He doesn't visit the forum any more.

It's a damn shame that they're not releasing the Wii version separately because it's a whole lot better than the shitty Wii U port (which was based on the 3DS version).

I suppose in time it'll pop up on eBay for cheap as Wii U gamers won't want the Wii disc. ^_^

Depends I kind like how the wiiu one looks alot better than the Wii does but I in general don't like the Wii so that could be why.

The 3DS/WiiU looks all dark, dull and its gameplay was changed due to the lack of motion controls. And all the colourful visuals and details are gonr.

The Wii U version really does just look like ass. If you like darker colors, I get that, but there is no way you can like the lifeless, flat textures more. I mean, the Wii U version looks like what it came from, a 3DS game. If they were comparing Wii to 3DS, the comparison would have been totally acceptable. Hell, I may have been a little impressed. Instead I'm wondering what kind of development hell the game went through for the Wii U version to have been so visually gimped. The Wii version just looks like it plays better too with faster, more involved gameplay.

Basically, it looks like they tried for the Wii version, and phoned it in when it took so long that the Wii U was the viable choice for release.

Got the game recently to be certain I'd own the Wii version but firstly I tried out the Wii U edition, and well, it's as bad as critics/reviewers say it is. Controls feel extremely uncomfortable, clunky and unnatural and the visuals just look so lifeless without any colour to them (other than brown and the likes) as the Wii version has. The "good" thing about it is that it's playable with the GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wiimote + Nunchuck and Wiimote + CCP but since it feels so awkward you're ultimately going to give up playing the damn thing. Turning an onrail shooter into a 3D platformer just doesn't work properly and this is proof of it.

I really don't recommend anyone to play the Wii U version but if you want the Wii version then you're stick buying the Wii U edition. Mind you it comes with a reversible cover so it's not all bad.

Even Naka, the game creator, acknowledges that.
The Wii version is the game as intended.
Good to know Mr. Naka acknowledges it too rather than lie about it (so to get Wii U copies sold in the west). But you know, there's actually people who enjoy the Wii U version, said people are on Miiverse.

I suppose people out there find enjoyment in terrible games but I'd just prefer to avoid them.

welp this tanked...on metacritic :creep:
A fellow user at Metacritic seemed very upset because of all the negative reviews the game was getting so to make up for that frustration he posted a review and called everyone 'ignorant' twice. Can't reason with fanboys.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
