O3DS/2DS or N3DS?Should I update my gateway's EmuNand? I don't know what to do...
No, it's a gateway card with the gateway EmuNand.Do you use GW? Or happen to use themehax with emunand?
Appreciate it. I'm on 10.2 already. I think I'll stay here for the time being until Gateway team releases their update supposedly coming " soon ". Thanks again.Ok, what FW is your emunand on now?
If ts 10.2.0-28 then you might as well leave it alone, the backend changes made today that are causing problems with NNID won't affect you.
If you are on 10.1 or lower then I suggest you update to 10.2.0-28, as 10.3 apparently breaks multi-rom menu again. If you are worried about 10.2 breaking the multi-rom menu (i have heard mixed reports) then update to 10.1.0-27 and then use 3DNUS to download the latest version of the NVer title, and ONLY that title. The exact title id and version number you need for the O3DS (2DS is the same) can be found in a post I made a few pages back. Install this cia file to your emunand which will make it read as 10.1.0-28 and will allow you to use NNID services again.
As long as the last part of your version number is -28 then you wont be missing out on anything. If its not -28, then I highly suggest downloading the NVer file i mentioned and installing it at the very least (ideally I would suggest updating emunand with a full update pack to 10.2.0-28 to make sure you get all the updated network apps like tiger and mint.Appreciate it. Not sure if it's -28 but I haven't had any issues on 10.2 so I'm not sure if updating anything serves a good purposeAs long as the last part of your version number is -28 then you wont be missing out on anything. If you are not on -28, you will no longer be able to access any feature or game that requires you to sign into your NNID.Not sure if it's -28 but I haven't had any issues on 10.2 so I'm not sure if updating anything serves a good purpose
According to my 2ds, I'm on 10.2.0-28 so I should be okay.If you are not on -28, you will no longer be able to access any feature or game that requires you to sign into your NNID.
From what I am understanding it is quickly becoming apparent that HANS can be used for FAR more than we currently do. Possibly even to the point of enabling piracy if we had access to the source. Which may, in fact, be why smea has not released it and is channeling GW when asked when he will. It almost seems like hans is using an arm11 exploit, maybe even arm9.Yeah I'm just going to update my N3DS at this point. I don't have the money for another on older firmware and I'm not selling this one (Not that it would cover the cost anyway)
It simply isn't worth all the messing around and gimping my system for what we have:
Emulators: I can run all of them way better on pretty much everything else I own.
Custom themes: Never look as good as the themes I already own.
HANS: No full documentation anywhere, Has a code option with absolutely no mention of what that's for or what it could be used with, doesn't work with ZL/ZR and circle pad, doesn't support updates, useless for most of the games it would actually be useful for.
Rom Hacks: Randomised Pokémon, not that important, got five other generations to randomise with out losing functionality, custom Mario, Nintendo just released a game desinged around that entire premise, no other games worth hacking. Translations is useful but the game is still gimped thanks to the limitations of hans.
Eshop spoofing: Now patched out and frankly was only required because we're stuck on older firmware, doesn't work with the theme store nor in game DLC stores and even if it did it wouldn't matter because updates/DLC don't work with hans anyway which prevents online use.
Screenshots: Any game that really needs this already allows sharing them via miiverse.
The only thing of any use is region free and no game is that important it's worth losing everything else over.
Quickly running out of ways to get access to these things and no real progress is getting made towards something that isn't easy to lose (Not to say the devs are sitting on the ass doing nothing, it's just clear they're hitting dead ends), just a shame the only decent things also come with enabling piracy, everything I've listed either works better or isn't required with that kind of access.
It's just not worth it anymore so I'm going to back to having a fully functional system that doesn't require me to sit around waiting for fixes that may never come and messing around with other crap just to work with again.
Yep, I say sit there until GW gives an update with official support for 10.3According to my 2ds, I'm on 10.2.0-28 so I should be okay.

I don't think it is. Ironhax wasn't a kernel exploit and smea didn't share the source until they patched it. He doesn't seem to like sharing his exploits' source until they are fixed but most of the ones (which are from yellows8) are shared.
noo I was soo happy when I updated my shuffle and now its gone ... RIP Pokemon ShuffleSay goodbye to Pokemon Shuffle, check in > 022-2511 A system update is required before online services can be used. Looks like all games that need NNID access will need latest firmware update![]()
